Hello, i have some couple of quesions on your spring engine. Hope you have the time o answer them forbodin_angel.

1. Which scripting does it suppor this far?
2. What for sort of 3d model file does it uses? Like obj, ec.
3. Does it suppor bump maps for textures?

Just some questions i wanted o know about your good engine.

Well so far the scripting is done almost exclusively in Lua, but for the animation and unit code I use BOS/COB which is a high level compiled language pretty specific to the engine. Unit scripting can also be done in Lua as well, but I prefer to stay with BOS/COB for convenience sake.

The model format is called "s3o" which is specific to the spring engine. However, that being said, "ASSIMP" is being implemented which will support just about every model format under the sun, most notably, 3ds and obj.

Bumpmaps and textures are not done within the model format itself, that is handled seperately with lua shaders, also, it's true normal light mapping. Evo has this and it is pretty apparent. You can see the effect yourself by ingame, press enter to bring up the chat console and type:
/cheat
/advshading 0

That will turn off reflections, the normalmapping, etc.

If you would like even more info and probably better informed/specific info, pay a visit to Springrts.com . That is the developers site/developers forums of which I am a very active member in the community, but there you cna speak directly with the engine developers.

Thanks! :-)
