This is CryEngine 3, saving polygons is for losers :P

Look at the bottoms of the barrels in this pic versus the one two images to the right. You can see an obvious difference in smoothness.

Seems a bit redundant- It's always good to conserve polygons- there's no telling what kind of updates you'll make in the future. Anyway, it's your game, and you know what you're doing better than anyone else :D impressive work so far.

Yeah, I was joking, but not as bad as your pun. But to put things in perspective, 1 palm tree is about 1200 polygons, the new "high poly" barrel is like 156. Guess which is more common in a game set in the jungle :P

Some screens of the new higher poly barrels (more sides, they look much more smooth). As well as the cargo boxes, standard wooden boxes you'd find in almost any game.
