Enola is a psychological horror/adventure game that delves into the inherent darkness of love, death and revenge. As Enola, you must survive a macabre world conjured up by the tortured memories of her love, Angelica. *If you purchase Enola on Desura, you also get a Steam key*
Do you think an "open door" prompt would be a good addition to the game? Here is how it would work:
You go near a door. If you're facing away from it, nothing happens, but if you face at it, you get the "open door" prompt (ideally, it would be an icon on the screen).
What I think: Doors are already recognizable, and doors that cannot be opened will provide a visual and audible cue when you try to open it (think of Silent Hill, the locked door sound + the "this door is stuck" on screen message). This means that, to me, having a "open door" prompt will be just stating the obvious (this is a door, click to open), and is not needed because players will try to open the doors even if they are not "told" to do it, because it's an obvious task. So, I'd vote for ditching the door prompt idea, but I wanted to hear what others say about it.
