Hello everyone!

The last couple of days have been a whirlwind of pixel art and code demystifying. Today we have a couple of things to run over with you all, but the main focus is going to be graphics.

This is a screen of where the player starts in game. But things look a little different. The first thing you should notice is that the floor looks way different than it did a few days ago. That's because the floor boards were divided in half into two pairs and were staggered to show variability. Then, the left side of each board was darkened to show shadows and depth.

This screen shows an area that was not previously accessible. It is the bottom-left corner of Broken Shield Castle. It used to be blocked off by grassy bricks, but now it is accessible and will be the area in which certain vendors may set up shop. In addition, the walls and crenelations of the castle have been redesigned to give it depth as well as a bit of realism.

This image shows that the general shape of the spawn level has changed dramatically. Before we had designed the spawn level to be an hourglass shape; now it is a rectangle to more accurately reflect what a typical castle design would be like.

In our string file for building the map, here's what we had before:

And here is what we have now:

The box shape may be changed later into something else, but for now it is a welcome change.

This image (tries) to show you how the Broken Shield Castle now supports multiple portal zones for players to go to in order to get to other areas. These slots in between the grassy walls will be the place where all of the portals will be located. There is a spread of at least 12-14 portal areas in Broken Shield Castle.

This is where we're at. Let us know if you like the changes, and why if you don't!
