Dungeon Deities is part Browser-game, part realtime Dungeon Crawler. Players traverse the Dungeons of other players, carefully avoiding traps and battling enemies in search for treasures, which they can then steal. Naturally, you store your loot in your own dungeons, so make sure they are safe!

We're in the middle of alphatesting! It's great fun and very informative!

We started the alpha on Sunday morning at about 05.00 AM. A long night full of fixing bugs lay behind us and it was a huge relief to see the invitation emails going out and the user accounts being created.

In the morning after a night of little sleep, we had a quick look into the forums... and we saw many, many bug reports. Several happened when players started to use the editors, several when they played using the client. So we got to fixing them. And after a long Sunday, the first client update was released - much improved thanks to the great bug reports and feature suggestions from our alpha testers!
Of course, more new bugs are appearing every day, and we're doing our best to fix them!

Lava tiles Orb stolen

It's amazing to see the great feedback we've got, and it brings a smile to our face to read that our game apparently causes addiction, and inducing the desire to finish "just one more dungeon" to buy some new tiles. We're really happy to see that people are having fun playing our game, and it makes all the hard work worth it.

And now, back to bug fixing!

A huge thanks to our alpha testers! We hope you'll continue your great work!

Looks great, but I registered for your forums and didn't get the activation email, even after I did the "resend activation email" thing

We've only just noticed that there was indeed an issue with the emails sent from the forum. We have now send out "reminder" emails, that also contain the needed link. You should have gotten one, too.
If there's still problems, please let us know!

(The alpha is currently in progress, but we're planning to have a second round in which people can register that should start soon. You can definately take part in it then! :))

Do you find that in combat there are problems with perception of death? as in lining up your character side ways to hit enemies?

I'm preparing to begin building a multiplayer game using this style of engine but I'm concerned for the problems using 2D sprites in a 3D block world with this perspective creates.

No, this is not much of a problem, at least if you add shadows (those simple drop-down-shadows we're using here work fine). At least we didn't struggle with combat (or collecting items), and haven't had any feedback suggesting otherwise.
Additionally, we're moving the camera dynamically, and place it a bit higher when needed, bringing us closer to an isometric viewpoint. This is needed when the player moves further away from the camera. As an added plus, the movement in the camera makes the game appear more dynamic.
