Doom is a game so beloved by many, my all time favorite FPS. It has a mix of modern and futuristic weaponry, a badass main character, demons, amazing levels, and was pretty realistic given the time it was released.
Not only all this, but there has been fan-made source ports and mods that keep the community going and going. Keeping Doom alive and never boring.
Plus, it's what made a few other games I love possible, but that's irrelevant to its overall quality.
The fact that I can go through Hell with a shotgun, a giant plasma cannon of sorts, and blow up demons is just too fun. I may have a bias for this game, but maybe I don't and it's just that good.
