I remember it was mentioned that there would be 2 factions, I'm assuming this is a combat station of some sort? It doesn't seem to fit with what we've seen so far thematically so I assume this is for that other faction.
It's a reasonable assumption. It's not alien though, it's still the human/player faction. I did however deliberately choose a different surfacing approach, but don't worry, I will tie it together in texturing. You'll see. It's the lab station btw :) I wanted it to look more advanced. will post an update in a bit.
It's in development since early 2011, with me joining in mid 2012. It's really not surprising you haven't heard of it. Getting attention is one of the hardest parts of the development for a 2-people indie dev like we are. If you like what you see feel free to tell your friends about it!
I'm curious Mathias, I know it's not relevant to the above question, but I was wondering what you and Stephanie? (the other Dev. partner I assume) where do you and her draw the line when it comes to development areas, such as graphics, programming, sound effects/music, design etc. etc. ?
It's pretty simple. Stephanie is creator, designer and programmer. I'm the artist. I also tend to so some light promotional stuff and I'm of course the only other play tester as this point. I will also do some initial sfx work soon.
Stephanie is extremely open to any input I have, which is a lot and ranges from game design, project management, anything really. I'm deeply involved in DSS and really believe in her vision for the game.
Over the last months Staphanie has been contracting a lot to finance DSS, so that's why there's mostly been content updates from me. She's currently working part time on DSS, but will be back full time in a few weeks. This is when we will be pushing for an alpha release.
