Hmm, I really like how the ships have such heavy customization, but I'd like to ask is or rather will this be limited to a specific few classes of ship or will all classes have the option of customization?
Everything is customizable, but to different degrees. There's deepr customization in captial ships compared to corvettes for instance. For corvettes, all you need is a body and a tail, with sides and nose being optional. For capital ships, there's a core, tail, spineroot, main-spine or sub-spines made of multiple spine components and optional sides per spine component and noses. There's also support components(like a shield generator or sensors) and internal components(like core systems or reactors).
Even stations are customizable, where to the basic hub, multiply components are added, that provide a certain function, like the farm panels on the solar station, providing food instead of energy cells.
