This won’t be easy, and it won’t be quick. But that’s okay. You’re not going anywhere.

Cycle 28 is a 2D space shooter in the classic arcade style, where only your score matters. The controls are simple. The action is fast-paced. Insane dogfights lead to epic, screen-filling bosses.

That’s all there is to it, or so you think . . . But the truth is, you don’t know what Cycle 28 is. Not yet.

Kaleidoscopic space combat— G-force fuelled battles against an unknown, unknowable enemy. An arcade shooter reminiscent of classic and modern pillars of the genre. It demands focus, cunning, and a gunner’s timing.

Upgrades — Beat your personal high score in a run to unlock upgrades. Customise your ship and master new tactics to live just a little longer.

Evolving story — Uncover the secrets of why you’re stuck in Cycle, why the enemy are hell bent on destroying everything you love, and just who they really are.

Yesterday morning we received the masters for Cycle 28's soundtrack. The original score was composed by Jordan Rees (The Defenders, TV Trailer, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Teaser Trailer and The Martian, TV Trailer),

You can listen to the main theme of Cycle 28 in our trailer. Dave and I are super happy with how things turned out. Music is going to be a core part of Cycle 28, every 6 minutes Olivia will find herself ground-hogging back in time to the start of the longest day of her life. This means as the player you have to maximize your high score in that limited time. The better you play the more ships we throw at you to destroy and rack up points. The piece Jordan has written builds over that 6 minutes so just by listening to the music you'll have a sense of how long you've got left. It's a modern orchestral sound with hints of Halo and Mad Max: Fury Road, not neccesarily what you expect to hear when playing a retro style shmup - but it works...
