Cry of Fear is a singleplayer modification of Half-Life 1 which brings you the horror you've always been afraid of. It's a total conversion of Half-Life 1, which means it uses NO Half-Life 1 content or other peoples' files. It's all made exclusively by the developers. It also uses new gaming styles that you will rarely find in Half-Life mods, such as advanced cutscenes and other stuff that will be revealed at a later date.

I will probably get a **** load of hate for this, since most people appears to love this game, but this is the worst game I've played for years.

And before you say something like "you probably installed it wrong" or "you only like modern games". I installed it on steam, and I have played several games using an older engine, like Half life and F.E.A.R.

I tried to start the game 3 times before it finally worked. First time it asked if I really allow the game to change my computer (that right there is a huge warning sign that the game might do something bad to my PC), and the second time because it crashed when I tried to open steam. And no, my computer is not old or bad in any ways.

I'm glad I could skip the intro (I saw the intro the first time I played this game, and to be honest it's way too long). Shortly after that, an extremly lame jumpscare appears. After playing Amnesia The Dark Decent, that scare simply sucked. Was not scared at all.

I was forced to start a new game over and over again because I could not click down notes when I clicked on them in my inventory.
I could not save the game either for some reason, so after dying by a zombie the third time I restarted the game, I decided to just uninstall this crap.

The only positive thing I can say about it, is that I like the idea of combining items. Like if you need a light and a weapon at the same time you can combine the phone and the knife.

Maybe people rate it good because it went better for them, I don't know, but in my opinion the game is overrated. If you guys forced me to pay for this, I would honestly demand to get my money back.
