Coda Tray Application Thread - Coda

I hacked together a little win32 system tray application that queries the Coda master server and turns green if anybody is playing. It also displays a little popup. Might come in handy if you don't want to sit idle in a server waiting for players. If you want to check it out you can grab the latest test version from Codagame.com . It's pretty rough at the moment so if you try it out let me know what features, bug fixes, etc you want.

Does it just track the Chicago server, or does it track all of them? I checked it out, and it looks like it's working properly.

It currently becomes green whenever there is another player in-game, and will have a little notification if a new player joins the server. Does it auto-ping the server at certain intervals?

A good feature to have would be to have it outline which player joined, or have a list of players that are currently in a specific server.

All in all, a great start to what will look like a great little program

EDIT: Did I just say that I wanted the App to be a Coda-specific Xfire? lol...

At the moment it will notify you when anyone is playing coda on any server. It currently just grabs the total number of players every 30 seconds from the coda master server api at Online.codagame.com .

It also doesn't differentiate between players and bots, but that one seems like a hard one to change up... lol

Whoops, yeah . I think I can release a server-side fix for this. I'll take a look at it.

How about on double click it opens the page at online.codagame.com/servers/?

or just opens a nice little window containing the same information. Would be nice to be able to quickly see if those players are all in one server or what have you.

That's a good idea. I'll put that in there.

I believe it also crashes when it loses connection to the internet. It also could've been my computer yesterday, so I need someone else to make sure.

That's probably just you, mine's running fine and my internet has been cutting out all day

edit: I just noticed it changes color on 0 players. That's nifty :3

Mine barely goes off, this makes me sad.

"Why does nobody play anymore?" this I have been asking myself eeeeeeeverytime, hoping that there are still players but I just get keep getting in at the wrong time.

Unfortunaly, real world stuff has been taking priority lately. Hopefully i'll be able to get some time shortly to finish up 1.4 and release it.
