IMHO it's losing its charm as it gets more and more detailed and specific. I liked it the best when it just seemed like it would become a sort of Eve online with extreme customization. Perhaps your scope is becoming too big? Either way I'll have to wait and see when the final product is done.
Fully interactive crew, subsystems and first-person combat/movement has been in their to-do list for a long time. The scope of the game was always huge. But they sure seem intent on going all the way! ;)
