Beyond the Lines is a game set in the times of the American Civil War. You are Floyd Bagis, a Union soldier in the middle of the American Civil War. A simple pull out past Richmond has turned the last stand for human life within America. Metallic monstrosities have poured out in seemingly endless numbers, and are attacking any man, woman, and child they find. Fight your way through a destroyed Richmond and stop the threat of the Robots for good!

Welcome to update number 4! You might want to have some pretty hefty internet to view this one.. we've get some images in store for ya!

A lot has happened in the last 3 weeks. We've made some progress, we've lost some progress, and we've also lost a team member. Although we have had a few set back, we are still pushing forward, and we have made some progress. So to celebrate we have a nice big update, with some pretty images!!

CODING PROGRESS:

Not much has happened here due to the fact that a whole week of coding got deleted, and I've been grounded :/ But I have gotten a pretty decent amount done for being grounded and all. Here's what I did get done:

COMPLETELY new weapons system: The weapons system is completely re-done! Now it's not just taken from some tutorial I found off the internet, and everything actually works! Reloading, shooting, weapon switching and separate ammo systems for each gun are 100% done!

NEW AI: Yup that's right, some new AI for ya! Now there's some friendly's that walk around the base map and do pretty much nothing. (Except one which gets mad when you break his radio ;)

Survival mode implementations: won't go into much detail here.. ;D Lets just say its going to be the part of the game that will be worked on the most.

CO-OP: Nothing more, nothing less. its mainly singleplayer but with 2 players and twice the amount of enemies.

More weapons coded in: This pretty much explains itself.

Well, that's it for coding. It was hard to even get this much done, but I managed it! Now on to the good stuff with pictures!

MAPPING PROGRESS:

Surprisingly, after all the hard work and booms of progress in the past 2 months, not much progress has been made in the mapping section of the game.
its only been a few weeks, and Senior has hit some major stumps with mapping, such as entity errors and infinite brush bridges throughout some parts of the maps.
Other than that, we finally ironed out all of the bugs of 2 maps- Salem and Camp

Tutorial- COMPLETED


Streets- COMPLETED


Town-Hall- COMPLETED


Forest- COMPLETED


Camp/Hub map- COMPLETED (just need to iron out some bugs with the Friendly AI)


Roof- Mapped, needs enemies and Gatling guns


Hill- Not mapped, no entities, no lighting
Makeshift fort- Not mapped, no entities, no lighting

SURVIVAL MAPS-
Salem- Mapped, no entities


Ruins- Not mapped, no entities, no lighting
Source- Not mapped, no entities, no lighting

Some of the images are in black and white, this was just to add the 1800's feel. Don't worry, the game isn't in black and white. :P (unless you want it to be...)

MODELS PROGRESS:

Blunderbuss: Modeled, textured, not animated


Springfield: Modeled, textured, not animated


Derringer (Snub): Modeled, textured, not animated


Winchester: Modeled, textured, not animated


Knife: Modeled, textured, animated


Megabuss: Modeled, not textured, not animated


Rev Rifle: Modeled, not textured, not animated
Sharps Rifle: Modeled, not textured, not animated
Flintlock: not modeled, not textured, not animated
CTG TYPE 2364: not modeled, not textured, not animated
Scythe: not modeled, not textured, not animated

and allll of the prototype weapons for survival mode.

Well, that's it for update number 4! Although we must add one last thing..

WE NEED AN ANIMATOR!!! We have been stuck with un-animated models for a very long time. Me and Senior attempted to re-animate the enemy and failed badely. Please, if you are an animator, or know one, then contact us. We won't let this be the death of the game, but please help us out.. thanks!

I realize that people now think this game is a joke because of the videos posted. But I want you all to know that I am very serious about this, and this game is in most ways, not a joke. :)

We'll be re-doing the vids soon after I get my PSP. (the 26th of this month) Hopefully the gameplay will be a bit better, and on PSP this time, but I'm leaving in the enemy sounds because they're just so awesome! :D (just for the videos though)
