Lol a gamergate mod specifically made to censor a game? Regressive alt-right indeed :-P

You support using video game characters as political mouthpieces of the devs instead of being who they are? Oh, that's right, you types think everything a character says or does reflects the views of the developers and everyone who plays the game anyways.

So sad that you think shoehorning minorities and attacking imaginary boogeymen makes you progressive.

"You support using video game characters as political mouthpieces of the devs instead of being who they are?"

Why yes :-) You seem a tad confused so I will explain to you that fictional characters are not real and are an extension of what these people we often call 'writers' want them to be and say. And given that both scifi and fantasy have a long tradition of reflecting on socio-political issues, I indeed have no problem that Baldurs Gate SoD continues this long and proud tradition.

"Oh, that's right, you types think everything a character says or does reflects the views of the developers and everyone who plays the game anyways."

Oh not at all, however we normal ordinary people have learned at a young age to not throw a tantrum just because a character says or does something that is not 100% according to our own views. But simply to write fair and balanced criticism. Only those who are thin of skin go out of their way to review bomb and actually censor that which they do not like. ;-)

"So sad that you think shoehorning minorities and attacking imaginary boogeymen makes you progressive."

Oh you poor dear, I hope that eventually you will recover from having to be confronted by a character who states that she is trans and by someone who makes fun of you

Sorry, but don't you think the player character should be able to respond how they want to an NPC, even if the NPC is a mouthpiece for the dev? The only option after being told a character is trans is "That was a great story", no other options are available, seems a little restrictive for an RPG.

The response you gave is telling. You're the ones making a mountain out of a molehill. Thin about it. You people are up in arms about one line of dialogue from a minor NPC. Who's really being triggered here. Funny how in complaining about "imaginary bogeymen," (lol) you create a strawman of your own.

I'm not sure how the inclusion of a transgender character who lacks any depth apart from being transgender pushes any sort of acceptance towards transgender characters. It's pure tokenism, and if you really cared about representation you should probably be concerned how it pushes the actual transphobe conservative stereotypes how transsexuals are absolutely obsessed with their status and identity.

Also, let's be honest here, if I had the dedication and time I'd probably mod out every single meme out of every single game I can - you know, so I could for instance enjoy the charismatic villain and bright environments of Borderlands 2 without cringing at the by-now ancient memes. Even if you find the quip at GamerGate hilarious, you must admit it's somewhat awkward for a chaotic good barbarian to be concerned about ethics, not to mention this is the equivalent of Disney releasing a cartoon where Mickey Mouse makes doge or over 9000!!! references.

Chaotic good characters by definition care about morality, regardless of any law, always against systems of oppression.

So you think every other random NPC is a deep, well-written, three dimensional character? I guarantee that if the character claimed to be an orphan or an ex-con, people wouldn't be claiming they were tokens.

Wow that reminds me of one modder that removed all pentagram from doom3 because it was satanic, didn't go well with his christian education...

Well ok writing a "minority" character is automatically labeled as political by people shocked by a content... I guess they feel it gives more legitimacy to their views...
To be honest I'm not surprised though, there was the same kind uproar for black people in the film industry a long time ago.
Then for gay peoples because it's shocking and totally against any god's will.
For transgender, give it time it will be accepted after a few years worth of insults, discrimination, beatings, suicides and some isolated murders...
That's how a minority get accepted by self righteous communities around the world.

Anyway whatever float your boat, I'll keep her as is in my game as for the bad writing, well, let's just say that, it's a whole other problem.
I won't comment about the jab through minsc. I'm sure it was written as a joke but it really was inappropriate.

The triggered ***-pain that this simple mod causes is worth upvoting and downloading alone. You'd think these sort of homos would be used to having their anal circumference tested to the limits, but this seems to have burst the poop-chute. Good job.

Hah. Should be called Baldur's Gate: Alt-Right Hypocrisy Mod.

Now wait for someone to say I'm a "triggered SJW snowflake" for pointing out how ridiculous a censorship mod is considering what GG thinks it stands for. Apparantly. pointing out this mod is silly is being "triggered." But, wanting and making a mod to censor content that offends your alt-right sensibilities is not "triggered."

Considering I won't waste my time in play a non-canon DLC. The best of this mod is how many snowflake SJWs got triggered, hehe.

If I ever replay this game, I will definitely install this mod voluntarily, as opposed to SJW cancer who force their opinions on others and try to stop anyone from responding. There should be anti-SJW mods for every game.
