Hi guys,
First of all, thank you to all of you guys who helped tested our build and big thanks to all of you who gave us very valuable feedback. Secondly, I've to apologize for the lack of update these past few months. We were caught up in a lot of pitching sessions, setbacks in our codes, and RealLife™ getting in the way in general. Moving forward, we have some exciting developments!
Exosuit Implementation
After many painful months of development, we finally have our first working version of Exosuit working in the game. We have managed to get it working in both singleplayer as well as multiplayer. Most of the things are working except for the weapons, which is still spotty and hacky in multiplayer, and we aim to resolve this issue once and for all in the coming months.
Exosuit Redesign
We are also currently looking to redesign the exosuit, a MK II so to say, as we noticed there's limitation to the current exosuit design (MK 1). Here's an overview chart of the designs that our concept artist, Andy has come up with, with a more detail sketch of Scarab
Which version do you like, and shall we keep MK 1, or go with MK2?
Let us know what you think.
That is for today.
wow this is beautiful! really feels like you are jumping in
Thanks! We are working on making it look smoother in the multiplayer, and adding even more cool animations
Great to see you back.
Looking great at the moment. Only complain is the animation skipped when he turns back and jumped in to cockpit. Perhaps you can slow it down a little to add a little more frame for the body rotate.
Thanks for spotting that, it is indeed too fast and skipping animation. We are working on this
I'm super excited for Ascend and mechs are great and all, but I hope they don't turn into feature creep, I've given up on many projects after they got to complex because I couldn't stop adding things, also I hope there is an option for mech free matches, because that was one of my main complaints with titanfall, sometimes I just wanted to play as a pilot without being at a disadvantage, also offline play was needed.
Good point on the feature creep. We are trying to control it but mech has been part of the main core features. Still, if it's not working out, we are ready to put it on hold.
well... THIS looks awesome! and when will the next test run with these in them? o yeah, just saying, next test create and updater in the launcher so we dont keep downloading.
The basic implementation is there, though there's lot of things to do before it's ready. We'll keep you posted on this!
Good call on the updater and launcher, we are currently looking into that!
thanks. i've got high expectations for this game
