Hiya guys,

Today I am excited to share with you something we have been cooking up for the last six months. We have been working closely Kris Thaler from Rmory Studios to designs the weapons for Ascend.

Assault Rifle

The assault rifle is meant to be the most versatile weapon, covering close quarters to ranged engagement easily, all packed in a sleek form factor.

This automatic shotgun is a beast up close, and will make easily shred any targets apart within seconds.

Good old revolver design as a quick and reliable six shooter sidearm.

Light Machinegun

This LMG as you can see is designed with a different goal, focusing on efficiency and simplicity. With it's higher caliber bullets and lots of to spare, it will punch through any target easily, if you can handle recoil.

Precision Rifle

This is designated marksman rifle known for it's reliability and ease of maintenance. Equipped with a high power scope and a sound suppressor, this is easily the weapon choice for many assassins.

Sub Machine Gun

High fire rate and easily concealed, combines with it's cheap cost makes this the preferred weapon of most mercenaries, gangs and triads. Fires with a strong kick, and those who try to fire it with one hand will get kissed in the face.

That conclude the initial roster of weapons for Ascend. As you can see, it's currently divided to two different design, one being "White" guns that are more experimental and more futuristic and sleek, mean while the "Gray" guns are more efficient, cost effective and straight to the point.

Hope you guys like the weapons, and be sure to check out Kris's and his team's works at www.rmory.net

Love the modeling man!

Hey where are those two downloads for the latest version again?

I remember seeing the training test download.

Not the build.

Hope you know what I mean.

Overall I really like the weapons design, how you've redone the modern-day weapons to look super sci-fi and stuff. I'm kinda wondering how the v_models are gonna look in-game while aimed down sights, though. Like the lil' preview thing scared me off a lil' bit with the clumpy sights, I'm assuming it's gonna be better than that, yeah?

Also, personally, I'm hoping for the ability to change addons on your guns. To me that's become pretty important in fps' due to what the triple-A titles have been pumping out. Which I shouldn't be expecting from an indie company, but it's kinda become the sort of "meta" in newer fps-games, and I've real spoilt by that. Like for example putting a laser-sight on the SMG, and maybe throwing that mid-range scope on the LMG for starters.. Could take some time, but I think it'd be worth it.

Looking forward to see what else comes out of this. Again, loving the weapons designs big-time. Hope to see and hear the sounds and animations work well with the models! :)

Thanks for the feedback, really do appreciate it! I do find the scopes on the assault rifle as you said, clumpy. The model we have so far is very rough as well, so we will be looking into address this in the future. The immediate plan however is to get everything else all into the game and get a level out, making sure that's fun.

Regarding weapon customization, I am definitely a big fan of it. So far we have a working proof of concept that kinda work but our prediction is that it will be too consuming for the first alpha. But yes, mark my word, I will get it in there, especially a few scopes and silencers, which could drastically affect gameplay.

Cheers mate, please do keep the feedback coming.

Thanks! Glad that you like it! We thought of going kickstarter but we felt it's too early for that, and we still have some funds left (albeit dwindling). Still, I appreciate the thought, perhaps you can spread the word around, it helps keep us motivated!
