So comes the time where we are now officially on Moddb.com...WOOHOO!
The little gerbils have been powering our computers for so long now that it's pointless to make them stop, because then they'll just need an extra long break.
So, after coding, drawing, Creating, Assembling, we are verging on being capable of releasing a V1.0 Beta of Arania - Forgotten Lands! A few tweaks here and there and getting our server setup for online play and we'll be rocking the house.
For those who eagerly await Beta 1.0, we can already tell you some of the gauranteed features of Beta so far:
Trade
NPC Interaction (however, full conversations with NPC's aren't finished yet, and won't be in the Beta for a little while)
A Variety of locations - Begin to explore Arania by checking out the Aranian forests, raiding a bandit camp for some loot, checking out a village or two.
Dungeons - Dungeons don't work fully yet (Due to being puzzled about creating instancing) but they do exist, and they 'will' be in Beta V1.0. Spoiler: The first dungeon boss is Thu'zar the Orc. You will want his loot so just kill him.
Resources - Thanks to the capabilities of the Eclipse engine, you can harvest resources. We can gaurantee woodcutting to be in Beta 1.0 but the planned Fishing and Mining will be later on.
And even more will be in the beta (we don't want to spoil the fun of finding out all the features, do we?)
In terms of expectations for the size of the game, we are estimating you'll need 350-400mb for the game. But thankfully, that's the majority of the games content in there, so you won't be adding to that very often in the updates.
Here at Infinitus Designs we hope you all enjoy the first public release of Arania - Forgotten Lands, which will release in January 2012!
