APRI50 is a terraforming game set on a nearby exoplanet. You are playing Angelica Smith, highly trained scientist with a few biomechanic modifications, who was sent here as part of humanity’s search for new planets to colonize. After your arrival you have successfully landed on the planet. In a barren landscape shaped by regular and unhealty rainfall you need to establish a base to start exploring and terraforming. The terraforming comes with a twist: Machines with a biological intelligence are used for the processes and to make it more tricky the machines do have their own unique DNA, controlling their actions and features.
Upto now the points on the map, therefor the polygons, wer completely random distributed. I had some code to improve the points distribution but that was buggy so I decided to do it the other way around. Tak and a clean, smooth distribution (hexagons) and make it a bit random. It totally worked! No more long spear-like polygons. The other thing was to dump a little randomization I had on colour the map tiles. Sunlight will do the job much better. And lastly, grass received the treatment as the trees did yesterday. I will grow and spread with a few iterations. And for the trees, they are now growing in even smaller steps, even though it looks a bit buggy right now.
Looks very interesting! Quite rare to see a game with it's own style so early in dev. Nice job!
Thank you :)
Own style yes, but to be honest I'm still not happy with it. But entities are coming along nicely and they make it a vivid map.
looking forward to a first alpha :)
