Discovery mod is a full-scale expansion pack for Freelancer focused on continuing the story started in the vanilla campaign via the roleplay-driven multiplayer server an community forums. The mod and community currently host the most active remaining multiplayer experience for Freelancer and the mod introduces many new features including but not limited to new ship classes and types, ship equipment, player owned (and built) bases, jumpdrives, cloaking devices and equipment manufacturing as well as the ability to create, run and maintain player-led factions that shape, contribute and are a part of the ingame roleplay environment. This multiplayer-focused mod allows players to immerse themselves in the Freelancer world some time after the Nomad War from the singleplayer experience.

Description

Freelancer Mod Manager (FLMM) v1.3 or v1.4 is required to activate this modification. After you download, rename this file from "Discovery483.zip.flmod.zip" into "Discovery483.zip.flmod" so that FLMM recognizes it. This is necessary cause ModDB.com won't allow to upload files with flmod extension. Open Singleplayer is integrated as a mod option, no additional patches required. Before you start 1) Before turning Open SP on, make sure that you have a backup of Freelancer\DLLS\BIN\content.dll file. Freelancer Mod Manager (FLMM) will delete this file during mod deactivation, and you'll need to restore it manually. If Open SP is not enabled, content.dll will not be deleted. 2) It is not recommended to install any other mods or patches prior to and after Discovery activation. 1.1 official patch is included into the mod. 3) If Discovery won't activate properly in FLMM, your Freelancer installation is most probably corrupt. i'm having some trouble with this mod. I downloaded it and now im not sure where it went... i can't find it and i don't think i changed the right file name for the FLMM to recognize it and right now its taking up space in hiding, please help.

howdy folks,
just reinstalled FL a while back an while trying to find out how to get online found discovery, great mod, anyway, i have FLMM 1.31, discovery 4.84, all working great, hav avg free, both FL an FLMM checked to run in admin, hav firewall exceptions made for both, even tryed it with defender an firewall turned off, still can`t connect to servers,(got workaround to see servers), any help greatly appreciated, would lov to try online.....thx, mck

Hi all, ive got a question about the mod.
I read that there is a new story line but when i start it seems like the story is the same (ships, equip n stuff like this work fine). Do i need to activate the Open SP option or im just a total ******* ^^

This modification is not bad but the community is horrible. Censorship with really stupid and boring rules everywhere, admins are arrogant and when you want something from them, better commited suicide-they will ban you.

Before 3 years, there was usually 200 players at a time on the server, now it wont happend there are more than 100 players. Please continue with it, after some time, only admins will play their mod. ;)
