Finally, a new update !

Here a Christmas demo version of 8 Bit Runner (coming a little bit late on IndieDB, sorry about that, this demo was available the 25th of December on the Facebook page).

In this demo you will find :

  • The 2 new levels (the old ones have been removed)
  • New graphics (the first world : the industrial area)
  • Lasers
  • Conveyor belts
  • The options menu (you can set the player's color to fit your liking)
  • A Santa hat
  • More lasers

You can play the game on Newgrounds or on Clay.io.

Christmas Update

Please keep in mind that this is still a demo version of the game, you can report every bug you may find (I love bug reports, seriously I really do !)

Merry Christmas (late), Happy New Year, and have fun ! :-)

8bitrunner.clay.io link seem to be broken.
Anyway took it for a swing and it look very nice.
I really like the movement implementations: slides and climbs.
You might want to fill the world with living things, feels kind of empty now.

Keep it up!

Thank you !

I will see what I can do about this broken link, thanks for reporting it.

And yes, we are planning to add animated elements in the background/in the level.

Is it possible that you would be able to incorporate zip-line ropes, multiple items (hats, costumes, multiple characters, level creator) and maybe a possible online multi-player or leaderboards?

Those are just some ideas for you. If it's possible that you'd like any of these or even possibly more. Please don't hesitate to ask me.

Hi,
We already planned to add hats and costumes (and we already have a player color customisation), and multiple characters (well, if we have time).

But unfortunately, we won't have a level editor nor a multiplayer mode (well, at least we have online leaderboards), simply because it is our first serious indie project (but not our first game). But who know, maybe for the next game :p

And don't worry, each world will have unique elements of level design, no zip-line ropes, but many other things.
