Public Server Thread - 3079

Just started playing this game with a few friends and we're starting to really get into it.

I'm creating a server we can play on and I figure we might as well open it up to all.

why isnt there anyone on?

Game server syndrome. People connect see no one on in 5 seconds and leave. 10 seconds later another person comes on waits 5 seconds and leaves... repeat ad nauseam.

during peak times it's busy. I'll have upwards of 10 people on my server sometimes, other times no people. It just depends on the time really. Many time zones at work here :-D

Haha yea its a dedicated server so it's up whether or not anyone's on and I've been asleep all day. (Playing till 6am last night)

I saw a few people came in but like wanker said, people hop in, see it empty, and hop out.

I'm just trying to put a stable server out there because there don't seem to be many yet and this game is so much more fun with multiplayer.

Hopefully this game really starts to catch on because it's a shame to play only single player.

What version is your server? Only people with the same versions can connect, so it is good to keep people updated on what version the server is running on. Right now, there is a transition between v2.10.xxx and v2.11.xxx -- once everyone is on v2.11.xx, things will work out better.

Hey Phr00t, thanks for the heads up, I had 2.10.6 running before, just updated to 2.11.10.

I'll update the original post with the current server version.

Can't wait to try out the new features, keep em coming!

I've setup our ventrillo server now as well and updated the info in the original post. I highly recommend using it as there are serious issues with the in-game chat system right now.

New update! I'd be glad to join on a new character if you update the server to 2.12.xxx

Updated to 2.12.13b

Also made a few changes to eliminate the problem with downtime over the weekend. (Our server's address changed and wasn't updated properly)

i dont have "game server syndrome" cause when i join a server on a game u can build i just do that for about 1 hour then leave... come back later do the same thing and leave... repeats8)

Climb up on some buildings in a city, ships should spawn up there!

Needs to be a very complex (not really) ship customizer (with merchant) that includes:
A Turning/Speed bar and put points into either one kinda like Dirt3.
A color modifyerthingymahbob so i can fly in the Celestial Banana.
And F-Zero racing tracks high above cities to fill that empty endless sky! Once you get near one dialouge will appear asking you if you want to join a race, if yes you join a lobby with a Start or Cancel button showing 5 other NPCs or if a player joins before you start him, you, then the NPCs. If 'No' is clicked you simply can pass through the track.

Sorry was just brainstorming as I do when I see a dev (bet it gets annoying hearing all these suggestions), thanks for telling me how to get a ship keep up the great work!
