3079 is a futuristic, open-world action first-person role playing game. You arrive on a planet experiencing constant war. It is your duty to find out why the warring factions cannot find peace on their own & hopefully restore it yourself. All areas, buildings, items, quests and characters are randomly generated. You will find unique lands & challenges. I hope you enjoy it! "Just want to say again that this is a great game! For those of you who feel like its a minecraft copy just beacuse of the cube textures used you really need to rethink what a game is about! The game play of 3079 is nothing like minecraft it is pretty unique as well as how the weapons all have diffrent stats and colors kind of reminds me of Borderlands. However it is still an original idea for a game and i still play it from time to time. You should at least try the demo and if you like it please buy it and support fruit! :D Still give it a 9/10 ! Best Regards, Adam" -- SeaNanners Sequel @ 3089game.wordpress.com

How can you set up a Multi-Player Server? (Games : 3079 : Forum : Multiplayer Servers : How can you set up a Multi-Player Server?) Locked

Okay. I just was gifted this game by a good friend of mine, Mcfellan, and we would like to set up a Multi-Player server so we can play together. But we can't.

We have both tried to go into out routers and port foreword our ports to '3079 to 3079' but whenever one of us try to connect to each others game, it just says 'error connecting to server'.

So can someone please give me a step by step guide on how to set up a multi player server? Be as descriptive as you like. As long as it tells me how.

Thank you for your time. Also. Amazing game Phr00t. 10/10

Thanks man :) I've got to get to coding, but make sure Windows firewall isn't blocking any ports. And about port forwarding, usually it is "port 3079" to an IP address that is hosting the server on your local network, like "3079 to 192.168.1.100" etc.

Mar 5 2012 Anchor

Ummmm. Do you think you could possibly make a video tutorial? Because I am having a some what hard time understanding what you just said, sorry :\

Mar 5 2012 Anchor

Hi, When a friend connects to your router on port3079, the router forwards connection to Local IP 192.168.1.100 or whatever ip the server is running.
even if port forwarding is set correctly windows firewall may still block the server when friend connects.

How do I un-block it?

Mar 5 2012 Anchor

Usually it shows a windows dialogue box when you start a multiplayer game, it asks if you want to keep blocking or allow access to network.
If its not showing or you blocked it, you need to configure firewall to allow access to a program. search the web for help with that one :-)

edit:its in windows control panel>system and security

Everytime I try to edit the windows firewall it just says 'Use recommended settings'.

Mar 5 2012 Anchor

This is the best I can come up with, the steps in this video should work if port forwarding is correct.

If I try to enable windows firewall. Everywhere I click it just says 'Update firewall settings' and when I click it says 'Windows Firewall can't change some of your settings Error code 0x8007042c'. Can you help me with that?

Mar 5 2012 Anchor

I don't think I could help with that.

Mar 5 2012 Anchor

Okay. Well thanks anyways.

Nearly all games work this way, it looks like you have a problem with your windows configuration.
if port forwarding is set correct and you have allowed access in windows firewall, it should work just fine.

anyone running a multiplayer game server will need to configure port forwarding Portforward.com

Thank you doomstar for helping out!

No problem, maybe someone can make a video showing the proper procedure.Phr00t, How much bandwidth is needed to host 2-5 players?I'm sure this is already planned, but will you add an option to limit player numbers on server?

Mar 6 2012 Anchor

I'm not really sure the bandwidth usage, or how many players a game can really hold. It can vary quite a bit, depending on if the players are really close together, or far apart, and how fast they are moving (e.g. how many chunks they are requesting). I do quite a bit of data optimization and full compression, so bandwidth usage should be relatively low. I haven't put in a limit option yet, it is on the to-do list!

Hey, can anyone help me with setting up a server using hamachi?

Mar 7 2012 Anchor

Is that even possible yet? :P

Mar 7 2012 Anchor

I got a message from someone saying they got a server working using Hamachi somehow -- it must just handle the connection through a router...

Mar 8 2012 Anchor

Searching google for a phrase like 'how to hamachi' gives you plenty information. I don't understand any of it lol
Port forwarding is not really that hard to setup. The Port forward site lists nearly all router models and how to configure them.
Hope you can figure this out :-)

Doom, it's just my Firewall. But it won't let me enable/disable it. That's why I can't do it...

Mar 8 2012 Anchor

I think you need to be the administrator to change firewall settings, I really don't know. Either that or some other firewall is is being used on your system.

Mar 8 2012 Anchor

Well this is my computer and I am the only account on it, and I am an admin. And I am not using any other Firewall...

Mar 24 2012 Anchor

I made my own private server

Jun 28 2012 Anchor

i have ported, checked the firewall and everything but it wont work please help

The server isn't starting, or clients are not able to connect? Are you sure you are providing the correct IP address to other people? www.whatismyip.com is a good place to check, unless you are playing locally.
