Do you think a card-based MMO would be popular? A totally original and new card game that is. I know there a big ones out like yugioh, magic, and urban rivals but most of those require big bucks to have any fun and I've heard from some they're bad. I don't really have any ideas on how the MMO would work (I still gotta plan it out) but if you saw a card-based MMO would you download and play it?

Probably not, no.

A massively multiplayer online card game ? My mind just imploded from trying to work out how that would work. I'm not sure you could reliably get thousands of people online at the same time playing a massive card game. If it's turn based then isn't that just like playing chess online ?

I didn't mean like that, more like duelingnetwork where there's matches and its lobby-based.

Well that's exactly how Magic works, the online version. So I guess your idea already exists and yes people have downloaded it and played card games from lobbies.
