Website wants criticism Thread

Hey all
Dh3 (David hunter 3 for HL2) finally got it's own website up. I'd appreciate people heading to Davidhunter3.tk and telling me what they think of the website itself, and the mod in general.
It's not exactly a majorly massive site, but I hope it brings the message across and is accessible enough. As for the banner - it's harder to get text pixelated deliberately without being fuzzy than people give you credit for.

This is strange. Usually tons of people comment on the mod and nobody joins the team. But this mod allready has 3 members but no one has commented on it :/

Well yes, exept there should be a banner at the top....

What's PHL? Planet Half-Life one assumes?
Actually, I noticed a few months back that it was very similar to Fileplanet, but what's shown above the standard template I adopted for my websites a couple of years ago. It's coincidental .
It is odd that we should have so few comments and so many members admittedly.
Screenshots? The mod only got booted a few days ago! Actually, development shots should start to creep in fairly shortly with model and map work underway.

Edit This image shows the similarities, but you'll notice that they do appear to be very different to my eyes. The font face with the dates on are very similar, and the side menu has a very loose similarity, but other than that all I have to say is mine loads faster!! :p

Personally i think the site is a bit bland, it really lack refinement and cohesively. It doesn’t really make a statement, and personally i believe that a website is like a first impression, so generally you should try and do your best to make it look as good as you can. If I were you id work on making it a lot more representative of the game your trying to create, try to make the website convey the theme of your game in some respect.

It could be done, however the lightweight requirements I put on my sites does mean that there will be some blandness, for lack of graphics. Still, there may well be ways of doing so without the use of graphics, I'd be welcome to hear them.

there isnt a way to do it without graphis so why would you make lightweight requirements ?

i like everything but the banner could be better, what program did u used to make it?

The Banner will give over to something better once we've go some actual content up, probably some stolen ingame textures and shots could culminate. I've just nothing to put into it yet!
One hopes that the mod will feature something certainly worth putting into the banner in the first instance..

I also think the banner image doesn't fit and it's good that you are planning on changing it. Also, that little green bar is a bit annoying and out of place since the rest of the bar/menu bg are all blue. The menu also seems way too overcrowded with too much going on in such a small place. And again, as said before, the simple blue and black is... well... simple. It lacks anything which catches the person's interest. Granted, the game is supposed ot do that, but usually you need a little help visually first, then you get'em with your great idea.
