Developed in australia, kinda like the America's Army, but its AUstralia, this one will cost and its way WAY more advanced, think BF 100x the technology. Also, as its australia, first game 2 EVER have the Austrlaia colors!! Edited by: HuntEr -- HuntEr |

It actually started out as a training tool for the US Marines, and was adapted from Operation Flashpoint. It was then licensed by the Australian military. It also costs a hell of a lot of a money to purchase it, and is not very fun. --

So it isn't a game at all basically. Well maybe someone will make a game using it's technology someday. |

There already is a game based on its technology. Operation Flashpoint is the original technology VBS1 uses. Like I just mentioned --

Yeah. I played that, but I didn't like all the realism. I felt kind of slow, you got killed from like one or two bullets, and even the reload was realistic. Yea, I'll take Counter-Strike over Operation Flashpoint any day. Of course, the American Army does use technology like that for their Special Forces. AA was used to also attract people to join the army as well, so that's why they didn't make the VR product retail -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |

Operation Flashpoint had some 'reality isssues'. Like for example. In one mission, at night you need to sneak past two russian tanks and place explosives to that they can be blown. Impossible. All tanks nowadays have short range thermal sensors. Then it was the issue with ' too much realism'. Like for example enemies that kill you with one headshot, while you were 1000m away and hiding in a bush. Another funny thing was you could destroy a t80 with one shot from LAW. Also each and every soldier was able to drive a car, pilot a chopper, fly an aircraft or drive a boat (they even could drive the enemys equipment!) while none of them could jump, swim, lean around the corners or climb any buildings or ladders... Because of the random damage factor, a soldier could sometimes survive a headshot but die from a bullet in the foot. Then again, a truly realistic game wouldnt be fun i think. |

Well, even in Cstrike, you can die from one headshot. heh I need to try Steel Battallion sometime. I think that game is kind of paving the way to mech weaponry. Japan could be the forefather of innovation! Edited by: Karuto -- "He who fights with monsters might take care lest he thereby become a monster." |
