Traffic!!!!!!!! Thread

i just came home from work and it trook me an 1 hour and 15 minuets. it normally takes 20 minuets tops. my work is just across town. i was diving home my normal way when half way down the road i see a tow truck and three cars behind it. they were stoped so figured the tow truck just picked some one up or somthing i cantinued dow the road going no more then 10 mph. then i round a bend and i see a police car so i figured must have been an acident. I got up there and i was forced to turn around. so i decided to get onto a high way and go home my another route. i did got to within 15000 feet and trafic came to a dead stop and was compleatly backed up as far as i could see infront of me and i here sirens. i turn around and decide to go the third and final way i know to get home. this road i havent travleld in a while so i missed a turn. i turn around and continue down the street. then i see trafic is also backed up this way. i was forced to stay in it since i ran out of ways to get home. when i finnaly get home find out that the reason for the back ups was the roads were "flooded" which where i live means that there was no more then 4 inces of water on them.

Sorrry had to vent some steam.

Traffics a bitch... Last time i was stuck in major traffic though, was a flash flood in malaysia, with water up just beneath our windows... in a 4x4 All for a mcdonalds, hehehe

well were i live a road is considered flooded if there is like two inces of water on it

Its true.. though here in my part of the UK, (norfolk) 'heavy snow drifts' and such, are basically about an inch Silly paranoid gits

i wish the police would of let me it would have been alot shorter even if my car were to stall i could of pushed it home faster.

yeah, traffic is the scary thing about driving

im gonna have to live with it

but in my driving lessons, I havent got onto the meen roads yet

havent you finished your driving lesons yet it should not take more then three days!!!!!

Ive had 3 lessons, and I can say I AM NOT READY TO DRIVE BY MYSELF
first lesson was 2 hours, the other were 1 hour

so thats 4 hours altogether, fuckn o im not ready to drive

You gots theory test to learn which is a 35 question thing on the highy way code, and other stuff, then a hazard perception, where you have to look at a video and point out the hazards

then you have your driving test (adter about 20 lessons) , and if you pass it all

what about the young nervous teenagers? fuck, what about highway code, what about knowing what the hell THAT sign means and THIS sign

3 lessons cannot teach that man!

well there is also a written test to check if you know what singns mean and fines and stuff like that. A trick to the test when ever in doubt always go with the longest answer since when its a hard question the answer is normaly the longst. any way we dont just get are lisence. ill explaine Age 16 written test and 6 hours behind the wheel with an instructer. then you are aloud to drive if some the age of 21 or older is in the car. it also has some restrictions like you can only drive between 7am and 10 or 11pm. also your only aloud to have one person of outside residents in the car. at age 17 you take a road test. then your aloud to drive by your self except still with the restrictions thought the hours are changed to between 5am and 11 or 12pm. also if one of the pasengers are 21 or older the resrictions still aply. then at 18 years of age you get a full lisence with som restrictions for 6 months(not sure what they are.

16-drivers permit
17-provisional lisence
18-regular drivers lisense

oh, at 17 you can get a provisional license here, which allows you to drive with L plates, and someone over 21 in the car with you

and you can get your license all in the year your 17 and be a lone driver and drive anywhere

but we cant start driving at 16..to young imo

3 lessons though.. a tad riskeh but as long as there're more tests to be done after that, it's probably all safe

I havent crashed yet but i have come close.
first day i almost hit two kids walking on the side of the road.
Second day i almost drove strait into a curb.
then one time i made a left while a car was coming towrds me he missed me by 1ft-2ft. sice i have gotten my own car i feel alot more confident since if i crash into some one my car should be left intact tough i want be able to say the same thing about the car i hit.

Buy a truck, that way you'll always win

With my car that i have i will always win!!! It is a 73 Buick electra so it is made out of steal not plastic. my dad jokes around saying i am going to have to hit 6 or 7 things before i notice the dents. it is beter then a truck since my insurense is alot lower.

In Aus u can get ya lisence at 16 1/2 .... almost every1 i know has 1 or is getting 1 now i feel so left out

Always a good thing to have a license. Even better when you're the only one! Gotta love staying sober just because you have to drive people home... juuuuust wonderful...
