Yes, Michael Angelo Batio is considered to be one of the best guitarists in the world. He actually did a seminar in my town, and gave some girl a signed flying "V"

yeah you know what id like to see, a contenst for best guitarists in the world that are alive

so these idiots don't just vote jimmie hendrix , and you already know the competition is won, id like to see "BEST (living) GUITARIST IN THE WORLD OFFICIAL COMPETITION"

noice guitarist there ;)

Nothing.

ever head of G3? It is the best guitarists in the world in concert. Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, Steve Vai, and Eric Johnson. Trus me, after hearing these guys, Hendrix will have no place on "the best guitarists list."

And these guitarists are all living.

Actually, i dun understand y all these people vote for Hendrix as best guitarist. Sure, hes good, but hes far from being the absolut best. There is a whole list of worthy competitors, lead by Batio. I think all the Hendrix voters should really do some research to either prove hendrix is the best or to see that hes not. Same goes for everybodyblindly voting for another guitarist, of course.

The one thing I give Hendrix is that he started a whole new way of guitar playing. But that dude is awesome.

Are you kidding me? Purple Haze is one of the best songs ever made . Hell, it ranked #7 on the Rolling Stones' "500 Greatest Songs of all Time". He did things with his guitar that no one did in the past.

And I sure as hell can tell you that if he hadn't of died when he was 27, his skills would've kept growing and growing. Have you guys ever heard of Chuck Berry? I'm surprised none of you have mentioned this rock legend :P Even Elvis was jealous of him, since Berry wrote his own songs, and he wish he had half the talent of him.

If you've sat down and listened to "The Jimi Hendrix Experience", you'd be quite mesmerized and hypnotized. He revolutionized the way the electric guitar is played. Both Eric Clapton and Pete Townsend both state that Hendrix had a huge impact on them.

Bottom line, Jimi Hendrix is a rock god :P

Don't go forgetting Hendrix's rendition of "Star Spangled Banner".

Of course I won't! I just listened to it. It's insanely awesome :D I so wish I had his skills. I also learned to his rendition of "Wild Thing", and Hendrix's version of "Johnny B. Goode" is like 10x better than Berry's :D

And if you've heard of "Voodoo Child", Hendrix and his bandmates made that up off the top of their heads. They're that good :D

Look, no one is saying hendrix was bad, but he certainly is not the best guitarist in the world. Yes, he was the first to "experiment" with his guitar, but if you listen to or see guitarists like.

-Yngwie malmsteen Mp3search.ru
-Joe satriani Mp3search.ru
-Steve Vai Mp3search.ru
-Eric Johnson - cliffs of dover
-Michael Angelo Batio - Speed lives

Hendrix definatley has a place in rock n' roll, but true guitar fans know who the best really are.

How about you check out some Stevie Ray Vaughan songs like... Scuttle Buttin', Voodoo Chile, Little Wing, Mary Had a Little Lamb, Pride and Joy, Rude Mood. Well lets just put it this way SRV took alot of Hendrix songs and just did them like 100x better and alot of the guitarists people think are "good" just know how to tap (tapping=hitting fingers in a coordinated position against the fretboard esp. with alot of distortion) and tapping is one of the first things I picked up so I can play alot of solos people think are incredible but really arent hard to play at all :P

haha yes he does....

i also think that if hendrix was still alive, he could definetely be the best, but since he didnt have any chance to get that good, he simply cant be as good as people who did have the time to pracise. he indeed was just the first revolutionary guitarist, so thats y many people love him so much

and i must say that the star spangled banner is hella good

No he couldnt be the best I mean... hes good. Mostly he is popular because he revolutionized the way both blues and funk (which altered rock later on in the 60's) was played.
SRV is the man... but he is dead too. I think BB King is the best guitarist for a 79 year old man... he still tours 200 days out of the year :O

--

Dec 8 2004 Anchor

BB King is the king of the blues, but he isn't the best guitar player. Eric Clapton should be in the top ten. He's real good :D

Angus Young and Slash are in there somewhere, too.
