Universal Pictures has a Doom movie set to film in Prague this winter, with producer John Wells — of such respectable fare as ER and The West Wing — attached. (The Rock reportedly has his sights set on the starring role.)

:O gulp

I mean... he's a decent actor ... but he's the Rock! (aka a pro wrestlers that we're used to hearing saying funny things about milk or whatnot) I'm not sure this would be of my likings :P If he's in it, the movie had better suck.. or something.

Well, you know, his movies are pretty funny and he's a good actor, but unfortunately their main selling point is having his big mug on the movie posters and stuff :P

I actually prefer no-name actors, little-known actors, or those old British guys who have been doing Shakespeare for 50 years ;) (guess which movie I'm thinking of)

I believe so... but for a second I thought he said that Nicole Kidman was going to play the G-Man! :o

I've never seen a movie twice in the cinemas... but if HL:MOVIE was made, I might just change that... :)

Personally I could see he rock as the doomguy. I mean, He was pretty badass in the rundown. I thought that movie would blow, but it tured out to be pretty damn good.

Well, The Rock will be playing the star role in the Spy Hunter movie as well. I think of him as a really avid gamer that wants to play the parts he has always dreamed of playing. I think he's an actor with a lot of potential. He practically owns the action market right now, bumping Ah-nuld off the charts with his performances.

If you guys say Walking Tall, he can sure swing a mighty 2x4 ;) He's a very fun and very entertaining guy to watch, and it'd be cool to see how they make him out to be Doomguy.

Whoever said give it to Sean Penn. No. He's not an action movie guy. I guess The Rock could do it, but he doesn't need to make it a funny thing. He always does the pseudo-humorous badass.

Aug 9 2004 Anchor

Well, he's only been in three-four movies. Remember, he was in Scorpion King, and he was pretty badass. He's a really appealing guy ;)

Two days ago my dad just got casting call for being a scientist on the movie Doom. I went with him yesterday, and saw the rock. Hehe, I didn't know it was the doom movie at the time, but after my dads finished for the day, I saw a paper on the ground which I think came from the Doom movie script. God I hate myself for not knowing. :(

Oh yeh, I forgot to talk about the rock. Well he look better and more militarish. He doesn't look so Rock on the set. He actually looked like the Space Marine from Doom 3.

BTW, if you don't believe that my dad works on movies and such, then here is his imdb profile: Imdb.com

Looks like we got a famous one here. It'll be cool if they even finished the movie. But i would want a HalfLife2 movie by far..

A doom3 movie will be a nice blood splattering movie.

Aug 9 2004 Anchor

I think Half-Life movie is in production, but my dad didn't hear anything about it. But hopefully they don't delay the Half-Life movie. ROFL

Aug 9 2004 Anchor

Hopefully it doesn't turn out like the crapfests that were Resident Evil and House of the Dead :|

Hey Resident Evil was decent. House of the Dead was just plain crap.

Sticky
Sticky I'm pretty awesome.
Aug 9 2004 Anchor

I thought that Resident Evil wasn't too bad, and I don't think the Rock would be too bad as Space Marine.

Also, UberSoldat, what kind of Karma do you have? Man! You get inside scoops on what Id is doing, then you blow us away about how your dad is going to be slaughtered by denizens of hell!

Aug 9 2004 Anchor

I actually remembered seeing UberSoldat's dad in 24. I'm an avid fan of the show. He was pretty cool, even if he wasn't around for that long.

EDIT: By the way, his dad was auditioning. You can't say he's going to if he's going up against The Rock. Some big odds there...

LOL. No wonder why my dad came home with his makeup still on. LOL!!! He was massacred probably by an Imp or Revanant. Yikes, I wanna see that. He just got back ummm a half an hour ago I guess from the Doom movie. Hmmm, can't wait for the final cut. lol
