Storyboard Contest!!!! Thread

RULES

1. The storyboard will be used for a short film of mine made definatley in 3d Studio Max and finished with Adobe Premier Pro.
2. Storyboards can range from simple sketch board to a Series of Screenshots created from ingame action.
3. You must include captions!!!
4. Dialogue can be included, but on a txt file corresponding to each storyboard scene cell.
5. If your sketching a storyboard. Don't plagarize someone by using someone elses sketches or storyboard.
6. If you want, you can make an ingame machinima as a storyboard.
7. The storyboard can be based on your own story ranging from the following genres:
Medieval Battles, TimeTravel Adventures, Space Dogfights, Anything Scifi, Anything that includes intense action.
8. YOU CAN NOT USE PORN OR SEX SCENES. ROFL!!!
9. Intense foul language is aloud. Blood and Guts is a must if it goes with the Story.
10. You must include a short story with the Storyboard that sets the background information or anything that preceded the scene.
11. The storyboard can be base on a world of modDB.

In order to Submit, please say that your in, then when your done, either host the image and PM me. Any other posts that don't deal with posting of your work or of entering the contest will be frowned upon.

This contest will be in tribute to modDB and may be released on the day of modDB V2.

Entrys will be excepted on 8/7/04. All entries must be submited by 8/19/04. If anyone needs the dealine extended, I will look into doing so. If you have anyone questions, feel free to PM me.

JUDGES If you would like to become a judge, please PM. By become a jugde you will be denied from entering the contest.

Yo I'll be a judge.

Eh, I'll do a storyboard just cuz I want to see it in 3d.I'd do it myself but I need 2 restore my auth key.

EDIT: If you do it in 3D, can we use it for an intro in our mod?

That may be a prize. But if its not a prize, then yes.

i have a question, for example what if you don't have too much skills but you have a kickass story, do you have a chance? :/

Hmmmm, do you know anyone who can make a storyboard from your kick ass story. If so, then both of you can be as one entry.

Ok then. Well lets see, I may pull the date of the end earlier than expected. The new deadline is 8/19/04.

Crappy drawings, each seperate done in like 10 min. Story board is as followed so far.

Scene 1: A man is seen getting onto a subway in an eeirly lit subway station. He looks around and notices that noone else is around, nor on the subway.Seeing this as not extremely odd, he boards anyway.A narration starts as the man introduces himself..."You may wonder what is out of the ordinary in this picture, but it is more then you could possible fathom.I am Jonathon Ghetts, writer.What happened that day will always remain as the most horrific events imaginable..."

Scene 2:Jonathon seats himself on one of the empty seats, and then suddenly "Hello".He looks to his side as he sees a small girl, dressed in a fancy dress and neatly tied back hair.She has somewhat of a British(?) accent."What are you doing on this train?" She shly asks."Oh, well I missed the earlier train so I decided to go on this one since it was going in the same direction" Jonathon replies."Where are you headed mister?" the girl says."Oh, I was headed towards the outskirts of town."The girl's look changes from that of energetic and happy to that of a more stern, colder look."Oh I'm sorry...this train doesn't go there...."

Scene 3:The girl stops speaking, and continues to stare.Suddenly, the lights begin to dim on and off, almost going out a few times.A eeiry wail can be heard, and suddenly..

Scene 4:The lights go out, and Jonathon sits confused and unable to see what is going on.

Scene 5:The lights shimmer back on, and the pretty little British girl is now horribly deformed.'I'm sorry" is written across her forhead in what appears to be her own blood.Her throat is slit, her right eye has been gouged by some sort of clawlike weapon it appears, and her flesh is rotting away.Blood is smeared on her face,clothes, and is matted in her hair.She speaks, again the British accent but there is a more sinister,metallic sound in her voice:"You're on the wrong train." she echoes a few times and then starts forward at Jonathon.

Scene 6.Jonathon tries to escape from the girl, sweat trickling down his face and his sense of reality is suddenly disoriented.He panics when she finally latches onto his t-shirt, and he shuts his eyes tightly waiting for the worst.Nothing is happening, he thought to himself.He finally decided to open his eyes......

That's basically the intro, once again I state that those pics suck, as you have seen my other work.I'm not going for uber good, but more for story.

Good job. It looks like it will make a good story.

Because writer's need to get it the worst.Wait....then I'd be hurting myself..

BACKROUNDED STORY:
Cheesebottom is single and seeking an insensitive 50 year old elephant that enjoys exploding as much as he does. He does not judge people by the size of their trunks. I wish someone can put the news of this contest on the main page website and on planethalflife. Anyways, good job a_llama. If we are able to get lots of submissions we can make different awards to award people. Maybe I will make the Insanity Award.

first and only question. How long should it be? 30 seconds? a minute? 2?

cause i got an ok minute or less one. a short story i wrote for class, got an A and it rocks with violence.

if i gave you the whole short story i'm sure you could cut it down to only the necessities. (understanding who the main character is and the intence violence scenes)

Well, you have to, obviously, make the storyboard for the project and not just send in a story. We won't do the work for you
