Story writer/ Editor Thread

Alright then as the name say's i am looking for a story writer, or editor job. In any field, indie, mods what ever.
I haven't done any professional work, although I did write a number of missions for a game in development "Miner wars", now whether or not they were accepted I'm not sure as their quiet about all their work.
Preferably if anyone is interested a professional or someone who is quite skilled in story writing would be nice to work with, so I have mentor of sorts and thus some type of guide.
So there it is not the most exciting thing to read nor the most glamorous, but hey I got hopes.

Well, I'd like to hear more about this miner wars. No information was given.

I'm a little confused on the mentor part.

Minerwars is a game set in space with you as a pilot of a space ship, the game is only set 50 years in the future. The game is mainly geared towards mmo, but they still wanted a single player part, the main game story line was already set so i think what they wanted was really just side missions.

Really just someone experienced, and knows what there doing, like how to tie things together so they make sense, just things like that, or like someone who goes through what i've done, picks out what doesn't make sence, needs improvement then let's me know the best way to fix it.
Like a teacher at school with assessment. It's not needed, but i'm still really new to writing, so well if anybody does take me on, my ablities won't really weigh the team down, and well so i do gain some actual experience on writing.

MMO AND A Single player experience? Sounds like you're going to have your hands full. What does it have to do with Miners? BTW, Awesome username.

Well not really, they already most of what they needed already set as they already had a lead story writer, but i think they really just wanted to get the community involved, the missions were just simple, go here, do this type one, not core missions that pull the story along.

As for miners, well that's one of the games standing points, the game takes place in an asteriod field, so what you can do is blow the asteriod apart, then go harvest it's minerals. So that's the miner part.

Ahh yes I saw the trailer shortly after reading this. I'm interested, but I want to know what kind of side missions are they looking for.

I'm not sure if they are still looking for more missions as they are really i think finished taking submissions, but the thread where people submitted is Minerwars.com

Well they may still take it, they intend for more than one game, so if you make one they want, they might try to include it, or save it for the second game.

Sorry about all that business with posting from an iPhone. I'm leaving the post up because it's lolzy. So you just contributed side missions through a community contest? That certainly isn't something I would put on a resume. It shows that your interested in the field of writing at least. I'm semi-experienced as a writer (respected among my friends and currently writing for a HL2 mod). So basically an amateur. If you ever feel like seeing what someone else thinks about your piece, though, then just message me, I'll be happy to look over it.
