soo.... like the topic title sais, i wanna make a starshiptroopers mod for halflife, i tried it for breed, but no skd and so on :(, i wanna make a singleplayer campaign and a mp mode for it, maybe something like ns, with a little base or dunno, or more tfc, with a few classes, and i could need help with that mod, if any1 is interessted. pleas write here what you thing about it, and let me know your ideas for that mod, thx

There don't appear to be any registered here on Moddb. Most of them were for other engines.

there is allready 1??? :(, then my idea isnt so good maybe. but i love sst its so fu..in cool. but i dont really know how i should make that mod. game elements?? story?? the mercury engine(breed) would be perfect for such a mod, but no source and sdk for it :(, and there is another prob, i need ppl who can help me with it. and i say again: please post your ideas and thoughts about the mod, things you would have in that mod, here, thx (sorry for my english,im swiss)

first i wanna make it for hl1 then if its good, and lot of ppl like it i will try to make it for hl2, i wont make it for hl2 yet, cuz then i wont be able to play, cuz my computer isnt that good. and again i will need ppl who can help me!!!!!! :)

this forum isn't for asking people to help you.. like i said, you also might wanna write up a design document in order to entice people to your mod, on your moddb site.

good spelling and grammar are also a must, :D

:( to bad, i am swiss as i said, that means my english isnt perfect, and i will soon wirte a story, and make a site for it with all the infos, features and so on, that i will make, but suggestions, and things that the players wann have in it i cant know, that means YOU need to tell me what u like to have in the mod ;)

Hehe, nope, I don't need to, not my job. It's your job as the game designer to execute, (write out) the vision you have for your game.

Who am I to tell you what you should put in YOUR mod? What are the things you don't see in games that would make your mod different from all the other starship troopers games out there?

Ultimately, what your doing in making a mod, is making the game YOU want to play. If this taste just happens to coincide with a number of people, then you're in luck, :)

Hi all
I'm also a member of the mod team. (SST for HL1)
We're going to try to make a good mod for HalfLife1 that HalfLife1 players have gotta have. ;) We're busy writing a concept for the mod. (Quite dificult with no modding experience). I hope we can get a few guys or girls together to complete this project. Next step is definately the concept. If anyone has any ideas or queries, ask us. Looking forward to a kick ass team of modders, modding up HalfLife1.

This will lead you to creating a game concept document. You can ignore the marketing section, seeing as how you won't be dealing with business execs, :D Note: You need to sign-up for Gamasutra, it's easy and free, and a worthwhile source for gaming development news.

This will talk about the design document, which is different from the concept. You get into the nitty-gritty here, instead of just going over the individual features proposed in your game concept document. NOTE: There is some stuff you don't need to deal with in the technical document, because of how you are already using an existing engine. i.e: Data flow, control loops, etc. etc.

okay cool, that's a very rough game concept. Now look at the second article, it makes you start asking yourself questions like, what are "these invented parts" or, "what are the specific skills for each class," etc. etc.

Then once you've got all that done, you've got your technical document and can start getting team members and production on your mod! :D

Also, you might want to try Gamedev.That's always a good place for beginners.Also, even though we know you're Swiss, and your English is bad, a suggestion would either to really break down on learning some more/better English and/or getting a representative.Either way, both help you project your ideals and make you look more professional.

LOL, go suggestion, but i think i can speak english than you can speak german ;), and its impossible to make it better than the game, cuz i am not a pro. but i like the starship troopers universe and i wanna make a mod, so why dont make a starship troopers mod :)
