Hi
I installed the game on drive D (uac is disabled, no admin password, win 7 64bits) and it keeps on crashing at start up.
First I got a small screen of the game then a black screen for a few seconds then I'm back to desktop.
Tried to unistall and reinstall, tried to launch it normal mode and admin mode, still doesn't work.
Anybody have a suggestion ?
Thanks a lot.

heja
i have got a similar problem: when i try to enter the level 'great metal factory' from 'grabage', it crashes on the loading screen while 'loading shaders'. First its going black, then im back on my desktop.
I can start the game from C: and D:; in and outside the windows programm file directory; normal/admin; player shadow/show me your legs; high/low resolution.. I think the game wants me to say 'get out of here, stalker!'

"Expression : fatal error
Function : CBlender_default::Compile
File : BlenderDefault.cpp
Line : 62
Description :
Arguments : Not enought textures for shader, base tex: ston\ston_bort_j01
"

any suggestions?
thanks

Hi guys, had/have the same problem where the game fails to launch - black screen for couple of seconds and then desktop with no error messages or anything.
Got it working though, right click the stalker icon, select Properties then compatibility tab, tick the box and select XP service pack 3 to be compatible with. This made the game launch just fine for me, but it looks like I'm stuck with the DX9 version, vista compatibility crash just as the W7.

I'm On W7 64bit
i7 3770k
8GB RAM
2x GTX660ti

Good luck guys!

Pretty sure its a know issue with winXP, I believe the devs are uploading a fix as we speak, it should resolve some issue, perhaps this one.
