Hi, I recently wanted to start making some sprays for L4D2. So I look up some tutorials online, after simply saving as a .tga and putting it in the custom folder didn't work, I tried converting it to a .vtf but that didn't work either. The one time I did get it to work, my BG wasn't transparent, it was white. After looking at another tutorial, I found my spray looked correct in the import window on Options, but when I went to spray it... nothing showed up. If anyone could point me in the right direction of a tutorial or explain a step by step process for ensuring my spray has a transparent BG and shows up properly, that'd be great. |

Definitely check out the VTF creator, but from my experience with photoshop, it sounds like you may be missing your alpha channel. You want to make sure you document has an alpha channel before saving it, else, even though it's a .tga, it will be saved like a normal image (with a white background put in place of the transparent section). I don't want to over complicate my explanation here, are you using Photoshop? Or gimp? Or something else? If you still haven't got it to work, post back here with some more info and I might be able to help ya out. Good luck! |
