Immersion, tactics and mechanical action is what the Tactical Drop Mod
is striving to bring to Source mod players. Players engage in expansive
outdoor scenarios involving base capture and information warfare while
piloting science fiction "mech" monstrosities the size of houses. The TD Mod brings the
players to the front using NPC flying "jumping" transports. These sky
born jumpers are enabled at any time during a match, but at a lengthy
cool-down cost. Players are transported in real time to a location of
their choosing, dropped off and walk on at their own leisure. The
player may choose to jump from the start, but still evoke the cool-down
penalty. One team is considered offense, while the other is defense, a
team-deathmatch mode may be considered. The scenario is won if the
offense capture 4 out of 5 outposts.

Seeking innovative team members in these areas:
Coding
- Basic Source mod code for getting started
- Coding involved with "Jumping". Linking the player with the transport. Enabling the player to choose the destination.
- Coding the scenario rules, including a radar system revealing the location of players on a mini map.

Models and Textures

- The scale of the game is not typical of Source games.
Enviromental assets need to be scaled appropriately to the player's
mech (house sized). Optimizing the poly count of these assets for
the scale are essential.
- Environment objects like trees, outposts, radar towers are needed.
- Player models are not typical, experience with "mechanical" objects will be looked at.

Animation
- The humanoid mechs' running amok will need to be animated for the source engine.

Concept Art

- Many of the essential players have not been conceptualized
beyond rough sketches. Concept artists will need to be able to create
walking mechanical tanks, outposts, and props for the
maps.

A.I. Creatures
- Encountering A.I. controlled enemies is open at this point if it is able in multiplayer.
- A.I. squads would traverse the map in search of the offensive team for destruction.

Skills that I currently posses to bring to the process of getting the Tactical Drop Mod off the ground.
- Intermediate modeling skills with Maya
- Beginner texturing
- Beginner C++ code knowledge (working on class projects at the very instant)
- Concept sketching
- Experience making maps in Hammer

About me, RedQueensAce:

A sophomore in college, I manage my time well enough to work on side
projects for a few hours a day. Little distracts me from modeling mechs
or working on class C++ projects.

Inspirations that brought the Tactical Drop Mod to life in my head include:
- The Battletech franchise
- V.O.T.O.M.S.
- Patlabor
- Mobile Suit Gundam
