This is an idea for a multiplayer mod based on a game created by "stickmasterluke" on roblox. all the credit for this goes to the maker of that. Ok, all the players who spawn, except one of them, are humans. That person who isn't a human is an infected. Everyone gets a pistol, even the infected. Each pistol has 10 bullets per round, 3 rounds. There is no way to replenish ammo.

Each person spawns in a separate area, so no people are spawned near each other. The infected looks just like a normal person, no differences at all. The infected can shoot its gun just like any human. Humans can only shoot their pistol, while the infected can both shoot its pistol, and infect others with a very short-ranged purple beam. The infected can infect other people, with the purple beam. When somebody else is infected, they can do the same thing as the original infected, and when they are infected their screen will turn translucent purple, and they will get a message saying "You've been infected!" The infecteds can infect water.
By firing the purple-beam into water, any human who walks through the water will become infected.

There are pipes, pales, ect, around the map, which can be shot open to leak out water. The maps would be composed of labyrinth-like areas. Twisted roads and many alleyways would compose each map. Also scattered around the map would be "safe rooms". Each safe room would have a door in front and a scanner inside. When somebody would stand on the scanner, it would say "Infected" or "Clean". A different kind of room, a "Storage Room" Would still have a door, but no scanner. Instead of a scanner a storage room would crates which the player could hide behind. Each door would be destroyable, safe room doors taking 10 shots, and storage room doors taking 8 shots. Doors would be opened and closed by going into the assigned room, and pressing a switch on the wall. Crates and scanners would also be destroyable, crates taking 3 hits, and scanners taking 8 hits.

If a human kills another human that they think is the infected, they die as well. This adds a penalty for making mistakes. The same thing goes for the infected, if an infected kills another infected, both infecteds die. There is also a point system. Humans get 1 point for killing an infected, and 2 points for winning a round. For infecteds, they get 1 point for infecting someone, and 2 points for winning a round. There are upgrades you can get with points such as "Upgrade speed from level 1 to level 2 for 2 points" Each higher level upgrade will cost more points. There are also upgrades such as "ammo, health, damage" Some upgrades that aren't level based like "level 2 health" are "Purchase flashlight" Or "Purchase one vaccine".

Since there would be a very limited amount of ammo, players would have to choose their decisions wisely about how to use it. The maps would canonically be dark, and players wouldn't have flashlights. The purple beam would make a bright flash, alerting players to the infected's location.

I hope someone will read this, and consider making it into a source mod.Remember, all the credit for the idea goes stickmasterluke on roblox, i just think it would be fantastic with the source engine.

At first I thought this mod was going to be anti inception. Anyways, This sounds like a mix between most zombie servers on Gmod, and Trouble in terrorist town. Instead of making a full mod, why not just make this a game type for Gmod?
