You climb the crest of the mountain’s peak and pull your bear-skin cloak tighter around you, desperate to ward off the bitter wind which blows snow thickly into your face. You are on the brink of exhaustion, for your road has been long and had many a false turn. You fall to your knees and look up - grateful to stare into the weathered eyes of The Oracle.

You breathe heavily, unable to speak, overcome with emotion and relief. Fortunately, the Oracle begins proceedings for you.

"Greetings, traveller. You have come to see the achievements of Joseph J Clark, Writer of Games And Other Idle Fancies, yes? Very well. I shall not tarry, for I see that you are weary."

So begins the pulpy high-fantasy prose of my interactive games-writing CV: part edutainment game, part Twine story.

I've been putting some spare time into this lately and I'm looking to get it "out there". For advice, feedback, fame, glory - hell, who knows, maybe even it'll attract a new game for me to work on. Any questions or comments welcome. My experience in games writing so far owes a great debt to IndieDB, so this community is one of the first places I want to share this resume with.

Linked at the top of the page is an abridged summary, plus a detailed companion document with writing samples and discussion.

I'm not looking for work just at the moment, but I've always got an eye out for the next project, something to start in April would be great. I'm up for paid or unpaid roles, but either way I'm only interested in working on serious, committed projects. Studios/teams with a track record are greatly preferred.

I can offer more than just words: like any good games writer should, I'll help with general storytelling, narrative development, level design, and how a game's mechanics and story can be blended more effectively. I can get my hands dirty and directly help with production and scripting, or just offer advice and feedback on existing designs.

Mods: unsure whether this is better suited to Recruiting & Resumes or Pimpage & Posing, since I'm basically pimping a resume. Move if you wish!
