In the future where Earth has lost half of its original gravity, people now live in buildings built inside shards of floating rock that are tethered to larger floating structures that contain cities. People earn money by either becoming part of the different factions that Earth now contains. Or they become hunters, where they hunt the billions of new species of wildlife that live on the vast amounts of floating islands. There is a mix of different races such as humans, Wolvens, and Felthurs.
It would be vastly open worlded, with the ability to travel along the world, island hopping your way to different civilizations. Doing jobs for anyone who could pay. Kind of like a Scifi fantasy version of Far cry.
You would be able to create your own character, Race, gender, build, abilities, exc.
Weapons varying from hunting knifes, bows, handguns, hunting rifles, sub machine guns, assault rifles, exc. The ability to purchase or craft weapon attachments and even weapons themselves. Allowing the player to create and customize their weapon fully.
If possible, destructible landscape. The ability to blast holes into the ground, blow up small islands, and level forests.
Full survival, with hunger, thirst, and rest gauges. The ability to cut down trees and start camp fires, useing the meta you hunt from various animals for food. Ponds and lakes to draw water from.
This is mostly what I have for the idea.
Hope some of you will like it.
You'd alos have to add different ammo types for different species of animals. Like high-speed rounds would be used for shooting down a species of fast flying birds that I call, Jet Falcons. And armor piercing rounds for a large lizard species with a hard shelled back.
This is not a game that I plan to make, I am not in a skill set to create it. This idea is for anyone with the knowledge to do it and whoever likes the idea. I'd love feed back from anyone who thinks they can make a game like this and to any more additions to the idea.

Not strictly true, but yes, most devs are overflowing with ideas but lack the time to make them.

I don't want to seem mean, but this idea is about as generic as they come.

This is a joke right? Look up Eclecticism and you will see how all our culture revolves around copying and stealing from someone. Or as Goddard said: I don't invent, I steal!; or take Picasso: "The bad artists imitiate, the great artists steal."

I'd say it's the other way around: nobody has original ideas. They are all stealing from each other. If something original comes from it, then it is attributed to the unique combination of people who work(ed) on it. And that is not a flaw it's a strength. The question is just how good you steal, meaning how unique is your own creation, in the end.

This here description starts fairly original and then quickly goes the direction of: "I have no idea how games are made, so I'm gonna write something". Some of it is simulation, some is RTS and a lot of it is just left in darkness. If you wanna be a game designer, work on the ideas a little/lot more. Either you have a great gameplay idea or a good story. This one could have a good story.

well.. picasso was kinda weird you know. In my book, what you're saying is called the "magic thought". like saying humans didn't invent anything because everything ultimately comes from nature. it's looking deep enough to find a reason for something that's not really there. so you are saying that every game ever made was a copy of another and all game developers aren't original ? that's bullshit.
what I meant was that the indie community will never steal an idea. if someone does, well, they really are a prick

and about your sci fi idea thing. why not invent gameplay and a more intricate complete story ? what you have right now is not enough for anyone to implement
