Random moddb.com headers thingeh. Thread

What about it? I've noticed its gone. Is it going to be back on the site? Tell you the truth, this way of 'pimping' your mod is one of the coolest ideas i've seen on this kind of websites.

Probably not.

I wish it was, but I doubt it. Intense wasn't interested in having it up on v2...

I'm sure if it was wanted enough it could be put back on. The only thing is that the former color scheme doesn't really mesh well with the current layout. They would have to get everyone to redo them. Hopefully it can be worked out though, it was a cool feature.

Well, if they wanted to, they can give us templates like they did in the previous version.

I dont think it will. It wont work well with mutiple templates system.

Why not? We could always use transparent pngs/gifs.
Even more, pngs have advanced alpha channels, we could create headers that would blend in really nice with all kinds of background.

I agree that it was a nice feature, but it wasn't really that professional showing a large header that's not actually part of modDB, and seeing as there are more and more mods shown all the time, it wouldn't really be a practical form of promotion anymore.

Pimp your mod by making progress; then you'll have news to post!

It was a practical form of promotion! All you had to do was click it and be brought to the Moddb homepage. It worked to both pimp your mod and work as a homepage link. Not to mention, it just looked so cool and fun to find out about all these different mods I couldn't have just by searching around
