 It has been years since I discovered the mystical land of Raatha, my child, and yet, it pleases me to hear that you are interested in hearing the tales of my adventures... A truly beautiful land. Among the groves of mango and melon trees, exotic animals frolic freely and in the darkest of shade, the barbed teeth of a wild feline wait, prowling for hunters who stray too far from the path. My memory of this place is as clear as the fresh rivers that spread out like veins across the entire country. The northern mountains are always watchful, looming over be you far or near. But to simply tell you of the land would not be enough. To truly capture an image of this... Raatha, would be to speak of its people. The stories of great Warrior-Kings are passed from generation to generation. Wise Sages and Mystics disappear into the many jungles, meditating under a canopy of trees that have stood since the dawning of time. And one cannot forget the lifeblood of Raatha's golden empires, the hardworking people who toil the land. There is something else here too... magic, some say, others suggest something far more divine... and in this divinity lies a darkness eager to encroach on the Golden Empires of Man. Welcome to Raatha, my child.
The Golden Age of Raatha’s smallest dynasty, Suraja, has come to an end. Take on the role of King or Queen of Suraja and lead a dynasty that will become known throughout the world. This is a story of your rise to power, will your empire stand the test of time or crumble under the weight of hostile enemies? Raatha is part RPG, part strategy and part city-building game. Enter a unique world based on South Asia. Raatha draws from the rich history of India and Pakistan, but also the mysticism from Hinduism, Sikhism, Buddhism and Islam.
After careful deliberation, planning and design, we now look to widen our team, recruiting programmers and various artists to make Raatha reality, rather than simply legend. Our current team (made up of two designers, one story and lore writer and a dusty programmer) are a passionate group of individuals driven for our desire to create an interesting, unique and original game. While we don’t boast that we have experience in our given field, we’re proud to say that we pour the hard work in and understand that things take time. With that ethos in mind, the roles we’re ideally looking for: - A [UNITY PROGRAMMER], newbie or experienced, to assist and work alongside our current programmer, Sven! We’re open to recruiting other positions but the above are currently our priority. In terms of character, we look for the following qualities: - Passion - driven to create, learn and develop existing or new skills. What do we offer? We would love to be able to pay our artists and programmers, but right now, such funding is a very limited. We are looking for those who want payment and those willing to work for free. Free is a loose term, though, we would love to make sure that when the game is functional and funding seeps in, that our artists and programmers are paid. We cannot promise this, however, and it is important to note that these positions most likely suit those looking to expand on their portfolio!
