I am about to order Scarface on DVD, but the only available version is the Widescreen special edition.

If I have a fullscreen TV (standard scale), will the vertical alignment be way off, and the movie smushed? Or will it just look like letterbox? I'm thinking the sides will look stretched, and the movie horizontally elongated...but maybe not?

Insight please, I desperately want this movie.

It will be letterboxed by default, which doesn't at all detract from the experienced ... at least you're getting the full frame. Who would want to watch the 4:3 pan and scan version anyway ;-)

It will be letterbox, sometimes due to the construction on the TV though, a little of the sides is cut off... emphasis on sometimes, dont let this put you off though. its usually too little to notice. Buy the DVD.
