Ya i'll be ready. I like DarkPlaces, and Telejano. CheapHack can be a bit faster, maybe. Use standards, go inside3d and quakesrc and learn something about QSG extensions. Dont write for for engines, write mods for standards. |

Or maybe, you program for your system, not the standards j/k, I think If you're going to write a mod, it's best that you do it for standards, like Tei said. You can do it the Prydon Gate way, where it will run on DOS Quake if you want but it also has extra features just for the people who are using enhanced engines. Check out the QSG extensions, like Tei said, and give me a link to anything useful you find, please --

Tenebrea is a enginemod: modification to game and to engine. But next version will be engine only (similar to DarkPlaces) and Tenebrae 2.0 will break quake compatibility hard to have a good q3map render. Its very hard (+- imposible) to have a q1 engine that render q3 maps, the technology is soo new. But is posible (easy?) to have q2 engines that render q1 and q3 maps, and q1 engines that render HL maps. I think is posible to have q2 engines that render q1,q2,hl and q3 maps, but this is something maybe hard to write. update: - Edited By Tei On Fri 18th, Apr 2003 @ 1:34:27am |

I hear about at the Nexuiz forums. Will believe after loading a RTCW map. For some reason DarkPlaces still is not a sexy engine. Maybe because the particle system, maybe Quake palette itself is not good for a good engine. I like a lot the Tenebrae engine, and the willy halmes testmap2. |

Aw dang, I asked him about his progress recently, and he said 'none since you last asked', which was the beginning of April I had a semi-long and very useful chat with him about DPM models and stuff on IRC... I feel betterly informed, and a little bit more hopeful! Although I'm disappointed that he still hasn't made much progress... --
