Unable to load filesystem_stdio.dll

Can someone PLS tell me what am i supposed to do with this? how do i make the game run? i searched and found something to do with adding a '-steam' thing somewhere... but where? PLS help me, i cant wait to play the game!

Thanks a ton!

where did you get these cds from? sounds like an illegal copy...

yeah not only did he post this thread 3 times, but he pirated the game. he should be banned just like anyone else who spams threads and requests help for pirated games.

i would give you the file if you had paid for the game and hadnt had posted this thread 3 times like an idiot....

update: i already have the dll uploaded to my server, so if you tell me if you bought the game, i'll give you the download link to it.

Excuse me Sir's,

Whoever told you i purchased a pirated copy of the game?! as i donot have a DVD drive, i had to buy the CD copy of the game which comes in 3 CD's and archived onto a zip or a RAR file. and i have not posted this thread 3 times, but once on different forums. I have paid a fortune for the game and so am very concerned, as the store wont take it back from me.
I shall be glad if any of you can help me out.

Thanks and regards.

Why not just install Steam, and input your CD key? You can't play HL2 without Steam.

Thank you so much.
What am i supposed to do with this file and where do i need to place it? will this solve the problem? i already have this file, but donot have the FILESYSTEM_STDIO.DLL file. am i supposed to use some parameters to HL2.exe to make it run? Kindly assist.

Thanks.

Am supposed to install Steam? where can i find Steam? in one of the folders? which one, if you may please tell me? I cant seem to find it.

Thanks.

Get Steam here: Steampowered.com

Drag that dll into c/program files/valve/steam/steamapps/youremail/half life 2/bin

It probably didnt work because you didnt have steam. Install steam and then install hl2. You might not even need my dll.

Actually no, the game comes on 3 CDs containing Steam cache files and an installer. There are no RARs or even Zips. You cannot play HL2 without Steam, Steam is included on the CD (CD1 in fact). Alternatively, you can download Steam from Steampowered.com and input your HL2 CD Key without the need for a single installation CD!

modDB is not the place for swapping warez. It's not the place for swapping core game files. Don't treat us like we're stupid. Thanks!
