Platform problems Thread

I have gone through the normal 'contact us' method and have waited 48 hours with no reply. I am trying to change my mod's platform to Half Life 2, but I always encounter a database error each time. I am able to change the platform to something else, so I know it's simply not a problem with the platform itself.

the issue could have transpired from the fact that 99% of all other mods are on HL2 as well ?

Surely an integer overflow would happen first.

The integer already overflowed and it's filled up the database.

Nice models, though. Not sure how well HL2 does with vehicles. Empires has got it working, but you seem to have a lot of different vehicles..Good luck =D!

Several days and I haven't gotten that reply email from ModDB or a solution on the forums. Is there support for this site or is that just an illusion?

There doesn't seem to be any open issue tickets from you, which is probably why nobody has gotten around to sorting your problem yet. The chances are this is our fault and something's fallen through the gaps in the admin system.

The reason you can't move your mod to the Half-Life 2 engine is because there is already a mod known as "Evolution" for HL2. The error message isn't clear about this, so I'll put in a request for that to be fixed to avoid confusion in future.

If you want me to change your mod's name so you can move it to HL2 then send me a PM directly and I'll sort that for you. Other than that, I'm afraid the other mod is still registered as active and as such it has first claim to the name.

Actually no there was an open ticket which I responded to a few days ago. Anyhow the email bounced for some reason - so you should check your email address.

The reason why this database error is occuring, is we don't allow duplicate mod names. There already is a HL2 mod with that name so when you try to change to HL2 it throws an error.

maybe you make show a error message that there is already a mod with that name

That would require me to code... i am lazy!
