pimpage forum woes? Thread

ok...i dont understand why urban terror players were getting flammed for being newbs when were doing exactly what this forum is made for which is pimping your fave mod??!

i know that there are always a few who spoil the reputation for many, sad to see that some here are bent on achieving that.

someone posted about this site in the urt forums and so we came to pimp our mod...but thanks for trolling anyway we appreciate it...lollerskates.

post counts mean way too much to you guys obviously...someone explain this to me.

dont start a new thread for this. talk to an admin or comment in someones profile. DO NOT start a new thread

And creating this thread doesn't help that either, just increases the whining ratio of the UrT community.

Pimping a mod, after like 3 tiny unnoticable cosmetic changes, and signing up newbies raving/flaming defending it, is just goddamn rediculous.

The keyword here, is "new", and Urban Terror has nothing of. You've read Karuto's posts (I hope) so you'd understand.

BC doesn't really know what he's talking about; he doesn't have Q3A, plus he's always opposing against me at every opportunity he sees and has no critisism from himself.

Don't take my and Karuto's word for it that we don't like this whining. Eventually you're going to get yourselves all banned if you keep raising drama like this.

AS I understood it, this forum was more for showing off your own works, personally, I can't take much of a stand for UT as I am not a quake player.

What I do know is that this is likely in the wrong place.

Yes this thread's in the wrong place, but then again there's no right place for it either. We do not have a drama forum section.

and where exactly is the word 'new'? Im having trouble finding it...besides there is plenty of new stuff in UrT worth pimping imo, better hit detection, better lag code, wall jumping and more movement options for the fastest playing mod with realistic weapons that ive ever played. but you are entitled to your own opinions

im still standing by my original post since your posts have no real merit beyond causing a ruckus over nothing.

And why are you posting this boohoo train in the pimping and posing section anyway? I thought you knew what it meant and you're quoting it often

"better hit detection" and "better lag code" does not mean a significant mod. Every mod could claim that in any update they have and try to strive for attention with it. Hell, why are you even striving for attention here? You know we don't like cs clones and you won't have much luck getting the community to play this. Half of us don't even have Q3A and can't be arsed to get WolfET.

First off, I don't get what you guys see that is so wrong with what stagger is doing. He's following the instructions for this board, which is to talk about your favorite mods that aren't getting enough respect.

Second, there is simply no mod that comes close to UrT as long as you're not in it for realism. It gets pegged as a cs clone, but the gameplay is far deeper than cs. Strafe and Wall jumping add another element to the game, where half the battle is simply putting yourself in the best position to kill someone, where as in other games with slower movement, you're pretty much guaranteed to meet up with the enemy at the same choke point time and time again. The official maps are some of the best that I've EVER played on. They stand up to any game's maps (in it's genre), mod or retail, and come out on top. The weapons are balanced very well, and if you're good, you can use them in ways that aren't possible in other games. The sr8 sniper rifle in urban terror, in the hands of a skilled player, can be used as a pure offensive weapon. The hit detection, whether people care to recognize it or not, simply is the best of any game out there. ANY game. While develpment on the mod is winding down, they continue to add more innovative features, such as the new addition of timenudge, a command that can greatly improve your lag when your ping is high. If you haven't played the game yet, you need to. It's that simple.
