Hello everyone,

My name is Sam and I am the Founder/modeler/3d artist of the Half Life 2 mod called Pax Germania.

The mod is based around ww2 never ending, and the current year is 1967. Germany controls most of Europe and gaining control into Africa and pushing the Russian's farther and farther north east into the deeper and colder parts of Russia. Japan has control over most of the Asian countries and there forces are getting stronger and stronger as they push back the American invasions, one after another. The playable team's in this game are America, Japan, Russia, Britain, and Germany (Germany and Japan vs. America, Britain, and Russia). And the game itself is a close combat squad based first person shooter.

Now this start off multi player game will have some new idea's never tried before, plus some other great game idea's, all mixed together.

When you join a multi player game with a certain map you will all be in a bunker house (variates on which map it is), full with bunk beds and misc items just for a neat look. Now each one of these start off rooms has four doors with a sign above it telling what it is, Allie, Axis, spectator, and Random team.

Allie&Axis door's
When you enter this door, it will lead you into another room (armement room), this room will have foot locker's in it, a total of 16 to be exact. And on top of each foot locker there will be a sign that tells what rank of soldier get's this foot locker, to become one, simply press "e" (will explain in ranking system section). And this is where the team for a certain amount of time (depending on servers rules) get's to decide who will be who (rank wise) and decide how the team will work as a squad and how to flank and who will go with who and etc and etc.

Spectator
It's pretty self explanatory.

Random Team
Once again, you gotta be dumb not too know what that is.

Now we move onto the ranking system.

These are all choosen by going up too the foot locker and pressing "e".

This is a really squad/clan based type of play, but for you die hard shootem up boys, there will also be some maps where you just join a team and kill, so you don't have to play with complicated rules if you don't want too.

Now we move into some other gameplay idea's.

We are gonna use the limber mode for death (of course) and bring some very interesting and new explosion and weapon effects as well. Most of the guns in this game do not exist in real life. We have a guy named marc who is a researcher in the history of evolution, and he has been a real help in finding out what sort of technology would have came out if ww2 never ended. Plus we also have a 35 year old man named Allen who is our weapon's expert, and will try to bring the most realistic but yet fun action experience a mod can bring. And also a new style of ammo conserving called the allocating system.

Allocating system
The allocating system is going to bring a new realism to games, but not take away fun at the same time. Now for you people who now CounterStrike, the way there system works is a number in the clip and a number of bullets total, so for example 30/125.
And if you shot off 20 rounds and reloaded, it would look like this 30/105. And for people who play Day Of Defeat the ammo system is the amount in the clip and the amount of clips, example 30/4, and no matter when you reload, you just go to the next clip and discard the old one.
Now in our game this will be much different.
Allocating will be based around DOD's clip system, but when you have cycled through all the clip's, it goes back to the first one.

Let me make this more clear for ya, let's say you have 30 round clips, and have 3 clips. Now lets say you shot off 15 rounds out of all three clips, so thats 15 round's, reload, 15 rounds, reload, 15 rounds. Now if you were to press reload again it would bring you back to the first clip, and that clip will have what you left in it (15 rounds).
This is were the allocating system comes into play. You press the allocating button (whatever one it's assigned too) and it will allocate the bullets to the least amount of clips, so in this case of 3 clips that have only 15 bullets compared to the full 30, you would then have 1 full clip and a one 15 round clip. Cool eh. But while allocating, you might want to be hidden because it takes 1 second per 2 shells while allocating, so you better keep up too date with the allocating or it could be a long wait.

Another cool option we are gonna have is the three firing modes. Hip, shoulder, and iron sight. Each have there pro's and cons.

Hip
You can run fast and have full vision, but your accuracy is poor.
Shoulder
You move at a good jogging pace and have better accuracy, but you loose a little vision.
Iron sight/scope
You are god in accuracy when still, but when you move (and very slow)the sight bounces, plus you can't see very much around you.

We also have a two method in throwing grenades, throw, and lob. Pretty self explanitory.

thankyou for not posting them ! seriousely if ppl just said our site is not ready to be seen yet and then release it later on when content is available instead of just having a redirect to a slew of 404s and "under construction" pages we'd be much happier.. thankyou for being responsible instead of running at the mod community head first..

no offense to anybody that posted here so far, but its come to my attention that probably about half the "population" of moddb is just people who like to download mods because there tired of the original game. its sad to see other modders looking for help getting abuse from just forum bums that download mods instead of contributing to one. just my two cents

hmmmm, is 2% the real deal? I thought it would be higher. Or are those just the people that have mods registered. Lots of people just screw around making little maps, models, and code edits. That doesnt really make them modders but they arent total mod consumers then.

There should be a poll to find out.

Well, when i say idea's, i mean maybe some cool storyling one's. We have a good storyline to work with, but maybe a inner story would be even a better step.

But thats something that would only be good for a campaign, and we are gonna stick to multi player for awhile.
