Out of nowhere - Shower With Your Dad Simulator Thread

Hello,

So I noticed this new game is now 2nd in the Top 100 games on IndieDB:
Shower With Your Dad Simulator

It seems to of appeared today, with its creator only registering today.
Had just under 3,000 in one day, has just 4 members watching it..

Yet, IndieDB has retweeted the trailer? How in the world does that happen?
It's not on the front page, has no news and just 3 poor screenshots of the game.

Is this a joke? I've been trying my hardest to get IndieDB to place our front page news in the top slider let alone share us via Twitter to no avail so far.

I know it seems that I'm just a pissed off developer because this game is getting more attention than mine but seriously wtf? Are they bankrolling IndieDB?
Not impressed at all.

People are bored, they like joke games like this.
I just find it hilarious that they later complain companies are trying the sleaziest ways to make money. When you support a game like flappy bird or Goat Simulator don't complain about the games that come out later on. Consumer behavior push developers to the edge.

I feel your frustration however, The games not getting all that traffic from a tweet. (58 link clicks)

The top slider (also called headlines) is reserved for featured content (when featured it also goes to twitter and facebook) Headlines cover... big releases (game / mod releases), demos, alphas and big patches, Your releasing a demo at some point so you should be eligible for a headline spot. Get in touch and we can sort it out.

Site staff may sometimes add games and do other tweets.

Thanks for that, I've calmed down now but still slightly agitated. Glad you can understand why.

I'll make sure to get the demo to you once we're done.

Although I must ask..

Yea, probably friends of some big indie business people.
I noticed in the video that there were messages from Total Biscuit and other big names like that.
Not sure if it was fabricated and part of a joke of it was real.
