I want to know, are you actually unsure how to design games. I'm referring to the creative process: coming up with good ideas for mechanics, story, characters, and everything related. Not programming, not marketing, but design, if you get what I mean. I'd like to help people like that and I'm thinking about live streaming games, and focusing on good design. I want to know if there's an audience for that. -LightFiber

Thank you. If you believe that's okay to do.... well how about your opinion?

Having played a lot of games and being interested in the pipeline is not enough to actually know how to design a game well. I don't see the sense of this thread, what are you offering exactly?

I'm sorry, iQew, I didn't say exactly what I'd be doing. Here's a copy from a reply I put on another thread:

I would evaluate a specific game (e.g. Legend of Zelda Ocarnia of Time or Gears of War) and walkthrough it, sharing design principles. In fact, what I plan to do is a series that evaluated each title in a specific franchise, and then conclude with a summary that answers a question. Such as "Why has Legend of Zelda seen great success?" At the end of the episode series for the LoZ (maybe it'd be called "What Legends Are Made Of" or something similar) that question would be answered. Included in that mix would be trivia about the game, giveaways, contests, social games and other fun stuff. From what I've seen, game streams are a little too slow and unprofessional to be valuable enough. I want to change that. Even the gamer community is... eh. We need to present ourselves like we mean it!

By the way, I have a lot of experience with design.

I think that the best way to show good design is by producing it yourself and explain it during the creation process. Analyzing other people's work could definitely be a part of that, but should not be the main selling-point, I think.

I'm always really sceptical when people just say that they're good at something or know how something works. If you do know what good design for game mechanics, storylines and characters is, you need to have experience. And if you have experience, there must be a few recently finished projects of some kind and I'm asking myself why you don't show any of that right from the get go, since it would be the best way to make critiques like me shut up immediately.

But, who am I to judge? Why don't you just produce a couple episodes of what you have in mind and ask for critique then? :)

Okay, I see what you're saying. So is that last comment sarcasm or no?

I decided to do this, so now I'm looking for support.
