Hello my dear modders! I am here with one sole purpose in mind! Global domination! Well, two actually. The other being to pimp my 2d game "Ninja Bird Hunting: Crimson Maelstrom (Directors Bungee Jumping Cut)". LoadMode("Unrealistic_Boast"); Seriously though, this game as well as the engine that powers it has been most of my life for the past 8 months, so I'm really proud of it. Here is a screenshot that depicts pretty much the extent of the game: you are a Ninja, trying to lure PETA into your nefarious trap by slaughtering random poorly animated parrots. Oh, and there is a cool console on the screen. [IMAGE] If that image doesn't show up, it will soon. I am at a school computer that has the rightclick and properties-editing-feature disabled, so I can't set the permissions of it on my FTP, so I can only hope that it is by default accessible by unlogged-in users. Yes indeed, there is an internal alpha. I'd be happy to share it with you fellas, as long as you realize that it has all of the hallmark alpha-release qualities including random freezes, etc. Here is a link: Nordic.clawz.com . The controls really need some adjusting, so I'll just tell you to play around with the [SPACE]bar for bullet time, and the left/right/up keys for movement. To bounce the furthest down, be sure to keep a sidewards key down. Basically, try to hit the birds but don't let them cut your bungee rope. Pick up the orange rectangles and a laser comes out of your head for approximately 5 seconds. Enjoy, |

If you download it, please post that you have, so I can keep rough track of my bandwidth. This server doesn't provide me with a bandwidth monitor, so I have no idea how much I have left. Also please give me comments/suggestions, if you've downloaded it, so I can improve it ~San-J Edited by: San-J |

Bigger bird, eh? That'd be a very easy fix... In fact, if you have any image editing skills you could do it yourself by editing the bird.bmp file. Thats one of the nice things about 2d games... They're incredibly easy to modify. I'll continue compiling the ideas that I've been receiving and put them into the next version I release. Too much blood? Lol, you should see the updated sprite animation that I made today in class. The beak now falls off, the pupils start off really small, dilate until they are really big, and eventually come out of the sockets and spray blood. You can also change the amount of blood through the bird.bmp. Since I haven't yet implemented my custom particle effects (other than for the laser), the blood is just part of the death animation. |

Alright, I can fix the sword pretty easily. That'll be included in the next version. Thanks for the compliments Skizay I'll be sure to PM you with the next big update, as well as post in here. Just a question, does it lag horribly on your guys' computers? On the school computers where I made it, I was getting 80fps, but on my home computer it is usually around 10. I think it may not run as well on AMD processors, because all of my friends with athlons that have tested it reported lag. |

Heh, keep going until you get up to 1337 B1rd Ha><Z0r! I think that entails a score of 30000, in the build that I posted. Since then I made it a little bit easier. The bird killing is kind of tongue-in-cheek, and I'm a Buddhist, so you don't need to worry that I'm a crazed birdicidal psycho. I just wanted to poke fun at conventional games these days, and keep it fun at the same time. I got that image from google... In fact, I just searched for "bird" and it was on the first page, and I thought it was rather fitting to the game |

Actually, I made an ueber-violent ASCII shooter game a few years ago, and the same week that I was trying to think of a name, I saw "maelstrom" on a vocabulary list in english class. I thought it was a cool name, especially when combined to form "crimson maelstrom", and I used the name in Warplock II: Crimson Maelstrom (www.freewebs.com/warplock). Since then it's been kind of an inside joke between me and my friends and whenever I make something even mildly violent in the form of a cartoon, a game, or even when I write a story, I just whack "crimson maelstrom" onto the end. |

I'm working on a huge update at the moment, which will be released early next week. v0281 Hopefully I'll figure out how to implement sound by next week, but that may not be the case. |
