new hl mod, need help Thread

i've started making a mod for half life, and need some help animating my models, i also require some level makers and probably a coder or two. if you are willing to help or would just like to know more, e-mail me.

i tried to register on moddb but as i currently have no web page it wouldn't let me, i'm basically copying the legawars mod for operation flashpoint, but with more emphasis on single player, more wepons, more equipment, etc.
i already have some models, i just need help with map creation, and animating my models, i don't want to give away too much at this stage, as it is still very early in development.

... Post gameplay and etc... WOW man all these posts like this is shameful... to think i started liek this . And look at me now. (please change your ways now or youll end up like me )

instead of flaming me, perhaps it would have been better to offer some advice or maybe even email me as per my original request. i have better things to do with my time than deal with trolls.

Nobody is trolling you, they are telling you what a real help request should be like. Take their advice and post more gameplay, keeping it "secret" is a very bad idea.

I remember your LOTR mod post. I was like... Man, what an orang barunya!

please define gameplay, it's still going to be a fps, but i want vehicles (perhaps i can get help from the hlrally team for lego racing style action. and many different themes (medieval, modern, sci-fi and fuedal japan) i also hope to include ctf and maybe even tfc style multiplayer. but single player is going to be the main ingredient.

If you are really serious about this, write a design doccument.

One easy way of putting people off your mod.

Oh and by the way, design doccuments need to be at least 10 pages.

OMG! I just made a comparison. a_llama is younger, at the age of twelve (hope you don't mind me revealing ), but yet he acts more mature than SkitZaY! Sorry Skitz, I just couldn't resist. I consider a_llama to be very knowledgeable about modding.

design document? what like a .txt file with a pool of all my ideas and things i would like to implement? i'd rather spend my time doing the mod than writing a 10 page document.

supplemental: i only said i was copying the lega warz mod to give you an idea of what i was planning. the finished product will, obviously be TOTALLY diferrent to the op flash mod
(although it seems rather redundant now) here is the revised description:

i've been wanting to do a half life mod for some time now, and i needed an idea, the lega wars mod for operation flashpoint was great, but i felt it needed something more, namely, more weapons, more factions, a real single player campaign and *maybe* a story. i chose half life because i want to use squads in the single player campaign, and it has half decent graphical/ai capabilities. hopefully vehicles will also be possible to implement, but i won't commit myself to too much at this stage. feel free to send me an e-mail with any ideas you may have, full credit will be given.

i also plan to have some full scale wars happening in the SP campaign, like, 50 legomen duking it out with realistic squad level tactics and etc.

Fine it's your decision, but a design doccument is important.

i still don't know what you mean by design document, could you please elaborate?

A design document is a document that specifically details everything about your mod/game.

When I say everything I mean everything.

It helps other people who are going to help on the project know exactly what's going on and that nothings being made up on the spot.
