Moddbv2 RSS feed Thread

I know a few of us here have trillian, and there is a news plug-in. It would be great if an RSS feed was setup so all the news that gets posted come straight to my desktop with trillian. as an example, shacknews has an RSS feed that gives me all the updates the site posts.

I just think it'd be a neat feature for us trillian users. you think this is possible?

I dont quite get you could you please explain a bit more. . . i'm a bit slow on these things. . .

anyway, an RSS feed keeps you up to date on new news as it's posted. it's instant.

yeh you've blocked me an a whole post for it is a bit pointless

And possibly modwatches two somehow? Either way it'd be pretty cool, although a no longer use Trillian, i might try and find a good stand alone RSS client. For bad or good this would also let the news get syndicated else where....

I agree. Although I don't have an RSS client at the moment, I probably would get one if I was able to view modDB news through it.

trillian rocks.....no stupid trillian today just messanging....... You want news and wether get a different messenger..

I think Tei (a hacker) tried to code an RSS feed off of modDB once...

It looks like a downloaded programe, to me

only trillian pro supports RSS. Tei was successfull, I don't understand how he did it though.

they are plug-ins y0. it's not built in. plug-ins are pro only I belive. best $25 I've ever spent though. I highly recommend it. I even had a magic 8-ball plug-in lmao!

hmm nah id never buy pro... well maybee when i get money and a job... But i still think trillian Basic or Pro rocks and everyone should use it

The whole concept and idea is fantastic, its just not for me.

its works on both rss feeds and websites, right now I'm trying to make the definition, its not working easily though.

edit: here the code, save it as an xml file, then import:

Fragfiles.org

make a new web feed and import that.

I can't figure out the date since it has a 7th on it instead of just 7.

The new Safari will have RSS support But of course to bad for you hopeless windows users, it's mac only Thou I wouldn't be suprised to see it ported soon.
